Starting in the city centre with several pubs at the canal side you can walk in either direction, go towards NFFC and watch boats going through the lock into the Trent, well worth the walk and plenty of places to catch a drink or two.

Nottingham can be quiet all on its own. If you are looking for extra quiet, consider a walk on the canal. Some beautiful canal boats to look at but this adventure is mostly good for the walk. Bring some water. If you need to use...More

We enjoy walking down to the Canalside after work - in the Summer you can't beat sitting outside and catching the last of the sunshine whilst enjoying your evening meal. The Company Inn is a favourite of ours to meet up after work on a...More

It's a nice walk if you are in the area, I would not go out of my way to visit it. The canal is nice, the buildings are well kept too, it's similar looking to Camden's canal without the shops, colourful people nor market. There...More

To the train station. Nice little boats and cafes. I love taking pictures here, makes a walk to either the city or train station scenic :) nicer in the Summer

A pleasant walk with several pubs and old historical buildings. Not worth going out of your way for though.

On our recent stay in Nottingham we made a point of visiting the canals. We love the restoration of the waterways in both Birmingham and Manchester. Nottingham has done well to preserve this part of our heritage but maybe not on the grand scale of...More

Visited here in August 2017. The walk along the canal is very peaceful and quite serene. There are approximately 5 or 6 riverside bars to choose from, so take your pick. All very pleasant on a sunny summer afternoon.

A lovely place to stop a while as you pass through and look for the clues to our canal Heritage. This place was once busy with carrying boats
