Loved it!

We've been here a few times and have enjoyed it every time. The actors are great. My son loved the court re-enactment and the trip around the yard. Well worth another visit!

This very interesting legal museum is based in the old Shire Hall, the centre of trials, administration, execution and imprisonment for centuries. You can't just wander round the museum, but must join a guided tour. Our tour was conducted by two actors, both of them entertaining as far as it went. But personally, I don't care for a jocular approach... More

Great actors today really committed and told a great story on each part of the tour. Lot's of passion and have to say fair play as we where the last tour and they still gave it their best. Very very impressive

The Galleries of Justice was excellent. There were people acting out parts who were very good. We took part in a court re-enactment of a trial of witches (it was Halloween) and the children took various parts. We all enjoyed our visit and the various actors and storytellers made it a really good day.

Me and my Husband went to the galleries of justice, to do the crime and punishment tour, we were first greeted in the hall/foyer of the building, then our 2 tour guides took us in to the court room which was very interesting, we then carried on our tour where we were met by another tour guide who told us... What an amazing location steeped in history day or night you won't be disappointed. It gives you an eye opener of what life use to be like. From the old court room to the gaol it was history of the darker side of life. Amazing experience to visit and I am looking forward to coming again one day

There are multiple offerings at the Galleries of justice including opportunities for educational groups such as mock court cases, tours of the courts and cells and an insight into life when the galleries were open for previous business. The onsite cafe offers food and drinks at very reasonable prices as well.

A lot to see with galleries about Robin Hood and exhibits about the crime and punishment through the ages. The tour was good taking in the courtroom and various prison cells and the section on deportation to Australia was especially good as maybe that is because one of my ancestors was deported (and made good)

This is a great little museum. It's an actual gaol going back to Georgian England hat was used well into modernity. Actors/guides (including the Sheriff of Nottingham) take you through the bowels of the building and on a journey through the Victorian period and Transportation to Australia. It is unrelentingly tragic, but the descents manage a bit of humor. Well... More
