Lovely church

Very beautiful church supposedly with Robin Hood connections. A short walk from the city centre but well worth the effort.

It is quite a pretty church overall, especially from the outside, but there is nothing really special about it.

I visited here with my husband. I love to go and see inside churches. St Mary's is very big and beautiful. There are some very beautiful stained glass windows to look at. Not a great deal of information within the church to tell you what is what, but just looking around you soon get to know how old the church... More

I would be a beautiful church in Nottingham. I visited while it was under constuction, for repairing, I think. There was also a chruch-like resteraunt nearby, larger and also beautiful. However, considering most people arrived UK in London, the royality related churches made this one not so surprising. There was at least one thing special, that the Robin Hood was... More

Impressive church, especially if you take time to study the minor details. Lots of symbols and imagery to behold. I went there to make a video and take photos but I suspect this church is at its best when you just want to sit and contemplate, especially if the sun is shining through those awesome stained glass windows.

The gates were close well before 3pm on Saturday, despite the notice confirmed the standard hours as per description. Evidently they don't bother about tourists, well don't waste your time and go to much better sightseeings (E.g., wollaton park)
