The guided tour of the Abbey building was very interesting and professional escorted by a volunteer guide. The history is fascinating and puts a new perspective on Northampton through the ages.

The weather was glorious and we decided to come back to the abbey. It was lovely walking by the river and seeing the water skiers. After the walk it was a trip to the cafe for our cuppa and cake which was delicious. One of...More
We called in at Delapre Abbey for a break in our journey on the M1. The grounds were great for the dog to have a run and we enjoyed tea and cake on the terrace afterwards. The house was fascinating. I particularly enjoyed the battlefield...More
Stopped here for coffee with some friends. Ended up staying the afternoon.. kids were happy playing in the trees and we were happy with repeated coffee and cake. Prices are as expected, yet still cheaper than a National Trust place.
Have been to Delapre Abbey on a few occasions just to visit the excellent tea room for lunch and then a walk around the lovely gardens also went to a 40th birthday party there in a marquee lovely setting happy to visit again and again.
The house has been refurbished to a high level by Northampton Borough Council and lottery funds. Although the signage can be a little confusing there is a lot to maintain interest for visitors of all ages. It starts with an amusing cartoonish history of the...More
The abbey is surrounded by fantastic gardens and woods that are ideal for a winter walk. The abbey offers free parking but it can get very busy. The shop is also worth a visit as it has some lovely local items.

We saw a news report on the BBC about Delapre and it looked very warm welcoming and quaint.we decided to visit to get into the Christmas spirit. However we were very disappointed with the staff and information . Felt rushed.
Grounds and gardens great though.
We were there for a wedding, which probably isn't the most complete way to see the building, but the grounds were lovely and there was ample parking. The buildings themselves have interesting history and are well-preserved.
