Not an easy location to find. There is considerable speculation as to whether he was buried where his gravesite is marked. It also appears that the headstone has been removed, since all that remains is a plaque and a large tree.

An interesting bit of history in York. As well as the grace, there is a plaque to give you key information about Dick Terpin and his links to York. You don’t need more than 10 minutes here.

We were staying in the Travelodge which was very close to the grave of this notorious highwayman, I remember watching a series on television when I was younger and it seemed a shame not to have a look at his gravestone.

Stumbled upon it with a nearby information board on Dick Turpin. It is kind if tucked away in the corner, but glad it has been preserved

I always thought Dick Turpin was based in the South of England. I am based in Hertfordshire and there is a place nearby which is refuted to be a place where Mr Turpin hung out.

Clearly in later years he ventured North and got caught out.

His grave is in a cemetry on the edge of York city centre and very close to the city walls.

There are other graves in the graveyard and the only one with a well preserved stone is Mr Turpin's. Continuing to maintain his notoriety?

Well worth checking out if you like British history.

Hard to find but worth the effort
Explained the end of a story (Well a lot for me)
A possible novel sight for others.

Didn’t expect much from reading other reviews but I did experience exactly what I read! The possible sighting of one of the local drunks attracted me to take a look. I visited at 9:40am and as I got to the graveyard there they was! 3 of them sharing a bottle of loopy juice cider!

The grave is just off the church grounds in a separate grave yard. All other graves are slabs whereas Dick Turpin’s has its own headstone and concrete patch. Worth a look just to see if any of the locals are about sipping there gin and juice
