Great free fun activity and beautiful views of the Minster. You can walk all of the walks or just parts but the bootham bar part past the back of the Minster the best views.

The wall is a great part of York, you can walk the whole thing and there are lots of areas to get on and off!

An interesting view on the old city and a good way to while away an hour or so on a warm summer day. Look out for the cats!

The York City Walls walk is a great reminder of our relatively recent history. Including the battles and how the country was divided - in more ways that one..

Probably the best free thing to do in York. It's a great walk...you can take as much time as you want reading the history, stopping for refreshments, taking photos etc. Great views an.d it's healthy so try it...thoroughly recommended.

When I lived here I walked the walls so many times! It's an excellent walk around the old city center and the view of the city and the Minster is spectacular from parts of the wall. Gives you a whole new perspective on the city.

Some unique views to be had by travelling the city this way - the walls are well maintained and a great bit of history - at no charge!

See the city from above, sneak peeks into the back yard of old houses and pubs. Best way and free to get a real feel of the city 👌

If you are able bodied and can walk for a couple of hours this is a great way to experience York. The sights and information along the way are fantastic. You can hop off the wall at various locations for a drink or bite to...More

I am a tourist, and so cannot answer your question but York is a highly organised destination and so would be suprised if a German speaking tour was not available

Depends on where you get on (and how often you stop for photo ops), but I'd say not more than an hour.
