Architectural and artistic marvel. Great view of York from top of tower but make sure you are physically fit to climb 275 steep steps up a spiral staircase. There is an interesting exhibit on the history of York and of the cathedral itself, as well...More

What a majestic building. Impressive is an understatement £10 - £9 concession- money well spent. Need some time to soak in the surroundings and read about all the stained glass- historical cathedral- enjoyed it.

A truly wonderful building. Fantastic architecture. Beautiful stained glass windows. Well worth the trip to York just to see this. We went inside but didn't pay to have a look around. A great backdrop for photos.

Went there twice on our visit. First day did the guided tiur with Ian, very good tour, Ian eas full of information. Second day went up the tower 275 step. Thought i was fit but this proved otherwise. Once at thetop worth the struggle.

One of the "must see" cathedrals of England. Filled with atmosphere and beautiful stained glass (by John Thornton a Coventry Medieval Glazier who gained a bonus for finishing the work ahead of the deadline)

We did a self guided tour with no guide or time restrictions. My husband and son took the roof top tour and it was filled over an hour out. Go early if you don’t have the ability to wait. They seemed to run every 45 minutes... More
