I sat on Sunday Mass yesterday. It was one of the most beautiful sermons I ever heard in my life, sang in Latin and English. Very very touching. The Church felt very humbled, It wasn't trying to out-do the kitch .....it was just lovely to...More

St Wilfrid's is a Catholic church near to the Minster. It does stand out from other more mundane churches as the are around the altar is surrounded by statues with large paintings above the altar. Lovely windows though we weren't sure whether they were leaded...More

No crowds like the York Minster which is just steps away. Beautiful church in its own right. Well worth the visit to experience this lovely landmark.

I've been to lot of churches throughout Europe and beyond. St Wilfred's is nice - I can't say more. It doesn't have stand-out architecture or decoration and I haven't worshipped there. However, it is quiet, a good place to meditate, relatively free from tourists, certainly more...More

Over-shadowed by York Minster, which is located a short distance away, this simple but pretty church is considered by Catholics as the "Mother Church of York." It was completed in 1864 in late 13th century Gothic style, and as such, is not old when compared...More
