Only walked around the outside of this lovely small church that sits in the shadow of the main attraction York Minster.

The church itself is quite beautiful, very welcoming and active. When I travel to York, I visit the services which are plenty with many ways to get involved.

Very different churchmanship to the Minster and although still has very traditional interior it manages to include a wide range of styles. Very friendly, welcoming and people around to chat if you want to.

St. Mikes is a lively Anglican Church with three services on a Sunday (09:00, 11:00 and 18:00). The 09:00 is traditional, the 11:00 is a family service and the 18:00 a lively service with lots of students in term time. The building is interesting and worth a visit. Guy Fawkes was baptised here.

The staff here are great and will take the time to tell you all about the building. The senior building manager, called Rob, was very pleasant. If you're in town visiting the Minster next door, don't pass this place by. Rob should get a pay raise for being so helpful.

Such a lovely historic church located beside York Minster. Attendees welcome persons in to visit, we took that opportunity and went inside. We were pleasantly surprised. Guy Fawkes was baptised here having been born in a building in the street adjacent.

right next to York Minster so easily overlooked but this thriving church is worth a visit not only as the place where Guy Fawkes was baptised but as a pre-reformation church at the centre of York and its history right up to the present day.

Initially entered the Belfry as we didn't want to pay or queue for the tour of it's neighbour. What a great find it was. we were lucky enough to go on a day that there was tea & cakes on offer for free, a little duet singing a range of songs (not all religious). Everyone was welcoming and happy to... More

I only mooched around the outside and then visited the outside again later as part of a ghost tour. Nice looking building, lots of history, don't just walk past it without looking more closely.
