Dating Back to Medieval times it was once the street of the Butcher Shops. Today the Shambles is Europe's most visited street, attracting tourist, shoppers and business clients.

These little streets are lovely and well worth a visit you can spend hours iin some of the shops browsing around

That's the main street of York and it's very nice! It's a medieval atmosphere. If you like Harry Potter, you have 3 shops, although it is very expensive. Do not hesitate to go there!

Stumbled upon this accidently.. So glad we did, it is beautiful and so many little shops with a difference.. 3 Harry Potter shops very close together. Go if you like Harry Potter

Lots of warm food smells waft around tempting the hungry and merely peckish. Difficult not to try something. Shared a monster chocolate covered meringue and continued to browse.

There is Gert & Henry's which is closest to the Shambles, also The Blue Boar (where Dick Turpins body was laid to rest in the cellar, you can eat your dinner in the cellar) and Slug & Lettuce near the bridge is very quirky.

There is an NCP car park York Stonebow close to the shambles and another called Q Park Shambles.
