This Museum takes you back through history you can walk through a Victorian street. You can see the cell occupied by Dick Turpin the famous highwayman before his hanging at Tyburn Which is now the Knavesmire the home of York racecourse .

This is an outstanding and unique museum. It recreates 19th century streets and facilities - shops, bank, stables and prison life. It's a must-see historic interest attraction.

A brilliant museum covering lots of Yorkshire history. My children always loved this museum as kids. They now love as adults. We bought a ticket that was valid for a year. Well worth doing. We went back four times. Looking forward to taking the grandchildren...More

Nice compact museum with plenty to keep you occupied for a few hours. Good for a rainy day in York. Some of the exhibits are looking a little tired (but that's not uncommon with museums is it).

It's not massively expensive to visit this museum (£10.00 per adult) and you can literally spend hours in here. My daughter, who is 8, if infamous for getting bored really quickly and even she was more then happy to spend two hours touring the hugely...More

Been here many times and always love it. The street scenes perfectly capture the time! love the 1950's sitting room, just as it was! Also liked the world war one section, very moving.

Entrance by York Pass. Fab musuem, interesting for kids and adults, loads of different areas, old streets, costumes, toys etc. Well worth a visit.

How much does it cost for entry. Trying to work out if I should get a 'Pass' understand that York Minster is £10 pp entry and we would also like to do some other things. Only 3 full days to do this in. Thank You

£10 entry into this museum. The minster is £15 if you want to climb the tower.
