Well worth visiting with friendly guides in the rooms to enhance the visit. I often come to York but had never visited this House( I don't know why I hadn't!) I will be returning as there are changing exhibitions as well as the rooms themselves...More

When visiting York with my children, I am always made to go to the castle museum, this time, with no children with us, my husband and I went to Fairfax house and we were not disappointed! This beautiful Gerogian Townhouse is a sight to behold....More

We visit York on many occasions and had always walked past Fairfax House without going in. Today Fairfax House was our destination and it did not disappoint. Lovely house full of history and some very interesting furniture. Well worth a visit and the entrance fee...More

If you are interested in 18th century décor and then Fairfax House and the Terry Collection of furniture is a must see. Our visit was enhanced by the knowledgeable and enthusiastic room guides.

Nice Georgian house with interesting history. Beautiful original ceilings and decorations which have survived all the changes the house has gone through.

Very interesting visit. Rooms are furnished in true Georgian style. Each room had someone in it to explain the history and different aspects of the property.

took about an hour a very interesting house well worth a visit .Not far from the Minster and in town so easy to find I don't think it is suitable for wheel chairs.The volunteers are great for information

Beautiful, original Georgian period house with a huge collection of Georgian furniture. Original ceilings have managed to survive despite being a cinema and dance hall from the 1920's. Won't take long to visit but we loved it - worth the £6 entry fee. If history...More
