York Terror Trail, a history tour of the horrors of York. There is a monster, 1900 years old, thousands have died in its name. Like all the best masters of disguise it’s gone by many names: Eboracum, Eoforvic, Jorvic… today we just call it York. It has many weapons: battles, murders, terrible accidents and deliberate neglect. This city has two sides, the one it wants you to see and the one it doesn’t. It hides it down back streets and in the corner of your eye. We shouldn’t want to see it but we do. The terror trail can show it to you…The tour starts 6.45pm every night from York’s most haunted pub the Golden Fleece Inn.Adults: £5Children: £2

My wife and I went on this tour and absolutely enjoyed it! Gemma was amazing, animated, and very fun and informative. There wasn't anything dodgy about this great tour of historical terror through York! Thanks Gemma!

Damien was our tour guide for this, a guy with a gift for theatrics, great humour and real passion for what he does. If you like theatre, eccentricity, fun and don't take yourself too seriously whilst learning about the true history of York, seeing the sites and can get involved you will adore this. Definitely one of the best, most... More

We were quite pleased to have Damian as our almost personal tour guide in a group of 9 on a recent Saturday evening. When we saw 40 people following another guide, we knew we'd made the right choice. Each of us had a bit of fun as characters in the storytelling. Humor was balanced with thoughtful commentary on how history... More

If you are looking for interesting way to spend your evening seek no further! Here you will hear historical stories not written down in any of the school books. Very interesting and entertaining! Gemma took as back in time to learn about the pleasantries of 12th century York!

Not your normal ghost hunt. This tour explained about the horror and terror that the city holds over the thousand of years. Our guide was Gemma she was suffering with an illness but this didn't stop her giving a 100% performance. Had a 1.5 walk around stopping at a number of places. Where she told us about the history and... More

We all enjoyed the Terror Trail. Our guide was Damien who was knowledgeable, theatrical when called for, and very entertaining. We all learned quite a bit about York and throughout the tour Damien brought the history to life with his delivery everyone was fully engaged throughout. He ensured that everyone as able to keep up and slowed don to make... More

Thoroughly entertaining tour by Damien, he'll make you laugh and wince in equal measures as he dishes the horrible histories of York city. I would recommend that you take this tour, you won't regret it and it is value for money. I'd be interested in some of the other experiences offered by this company.

We all enjoyed our evening, the guide refused payment at the start, the city certainly looked different as day turned to night, the stories were interesting, harrowing, knowledgeable and amusing. As a business woman I would say please take payment at the start of your night, I doubt punters would object and then as happened during our tour if you... More

Enthusiastic tour with a knowledgeable guide. Engaged a variety of age with some interesting subjects. Theological, political and moral questions asked of the audience which led to an experience that differed to what was expected. Luckily, this was a positive aspect of the tour and added factual interest to what could've been a "campy" tourist attraction.
