We were lucky enough to visit during the Gothic Falconry exhibition. It was too windy to see the birds in flight but the falconers provided a very entertaining presentation. The abbey itself is very impressive and atmospheric but I'm pleased we had the bird presentation...More

A incredible ruin, no wonder Bram Stoker wrote his book. You need to climb the 199 steps from Church street for fantastic views over Whitby.

Well worth the climb of 199 steps. With audio description included in the entrance fee it's a must visit.

Whitby Abbey is just gorgeous. No matter how many times you visit it is always impressive. The Gothic style is stunning and is fantastic to photograph.

A great experience, very attractive, in a mysterious way. A must visit if you are in the area plus the remains of Whitby Abbey were inspiration for Bram Stoker's gothic tale of 'Dracula' what more can i say!

Had a lovely walk round the Abbey today. Visited the church and walked round the grounds. Was worth the 199 steps to tell top.

A lovely site to visit. The imposing view of the Abbey over Whitby makes it a must to visit. Although it is a 'ruined'Abbey the site itself is very lovely and the visitor centre has some interesting information. A very nice tearooms on site too

Fascinating ruins and on a nice day stunning views and a real sense of history. The exhibits are interesting but I think there could be more made of them in context and perhaps more on the architecture itself. All in I think £8.40 is a...More

This gothic ruin was amazing even though it was blowing a gale and trying to snow on my visit. Very informative gallery

Yes as the steps are outside of the Abbey walls, they link the town with the abbey

Yes not only by the ruins but inside the visitor centre as well. Whitby is a wonderful place to take dogs, not only the pubs but also many of the coffee shops and restaurants allow them in.
