A virtual visit to Dr Frankensteins laboratory with Geissler Tubes, Bouquet Tubes, Railway Tubes, Jacob's Ladder, telegraph system, early x-ray tubes and many more crackling spark, electric flame laden demonstrations. Showing the education of the young Victorians, using many of the static accessories and rare artefacts, as used by them. We hope your visit here will prove interesting, stimulating and will give an insight into this largely extinct branch of science.

Yes, 6 out of 5. The scenic trip to the museum itself is just the start of a wonderful day out. The museum is a cornucopia of electrical delights and their uses. It's two hours of entertaining, fact filled, fun and a break in the middle for refreshments. Do yourself a favour and a pay a visit if you are... More

Visited here after reading reviews on trip advisor and it did not disappoint. Yes it is very small and quirky but that is all part of the charm. Tony and Pat are lovely hosts and Tony knows his stuff and remembers your name. Absolutely fascinating. Thank you

Today we visited the Museum of Victorian Science after stumbling across it on Trip Advisor. A science museum would always be of interest to me and seeing such good reviews we were keen to make the small jaunt out to see it. Tony and his wife Pat were just lovely hosts with a cup of tea and biscuits halfway through... More

Tony is a real showman we had a wonderful time in this amazing museum. As a total non scientist I found it informative and interesting, and above all, understandable! Can't believe how much progress was made in such a relatively short time.

Thank you Anny, You are quite right, the progress of science since mid-Victorian times is quite astonishing. It's such a shame the age of beauty in scientific instruments has long gone. I just hope I can "Wave the flag" for it a good while longer! Sincerely, Pat and Tony. More

I don't know if Tony has even heard of the late, great, Terry Pratchett, but his marvellous museum/ tiny lecture theatre would be quite at home on the Discworld. An enthusiast with a real gift for communicating his passion for Physics (definitely NOT something I enjoyed at school) and for the early experiments that are the foundations of modern technology,... Thanks folkes, for this generous review! Historic physics can be great fun, (If) you have the correct instruments. These are getting more rare as the days go by (And more expensive!). I'm always pleased when Pat's little tea party goes down well--She does work at it. Again, a million thankyou's. Pat and Tony. More

Tony's museum is absolutely amazing. As an electrical engineer I found the whole experience fascinating. My partner, who knows very little about the subject also found the 2 hour demonstration to be quirky and unique. As we entered, it felt like being in a tardis going back in time. Tony has a great sense of humour and is an extremely knowledgable... More

Thank you Paul, I have just caught your review. I know our place is out in the "Sticks", so it pleases us both that you found the drive here worth the effort. I think your visit coincided with hurricane "Doris". Our sign nearly flew away, I found it dangling on one hook!. Physics can sometimes be very difficult to grasp... More

We visited the Museum of Victorian Science after seeing such good reviews... we were not disappointed. Tony's passion and knowledge is insurmountable. The collection of equipment is mind-boggling. All of the demonstrations are top notch and very fun. We learned a lot. The tea and biscuits interval with Tong & Pat was delightful, they are a wonderful couple and so... More

Thank you Hannah and Nick for your very kind review. We enjoyed meeting you and hope one day you might come again--I should have one or two new thrills and spills if all goes well. Thank you again, Pat and Tony. More

Visited the museum today (February 14th 2017). What interesting couple of hours! Tony has a total passion for every item in his compact home museum. Some basic knowledge of Science helps you understand what's being demonstrated, but Tony gives a full explanation of what's going on. The two hour visit is split into two very interesting hours, by a short... More

Thank youDenis and Rose, For your kind review. Physics can be quite fun as long as there are plenty of demonstrations, so I try to include as many as I can. 2 hours is a lengthy lecture, but the refreshments break by Pat makes it all, we hope, swing along comfortably. Usually new demos' never seem to work the first... More

My wife found this on TripAdvisor so phoned and booked for 4 of us. Good directions got us there, but allow bit more than 30 minutes to get there from Whitby, unless you are experienced in single track roads. The lecture takes place in small room, just enough for 5 people. Tony introduces his collection and you are off! Tony... More

I found out about Tony's museum online and by the reviews I knew my trip would have been worth it. As I ventured myself in a 5 hours car drive from London to his museum, more than once I asked myself if it would have been really worth it, for me, it definitely was. A very warm welcome was awaiting... More
