A good walk, with interesting stories and anecdotes

Spending a week in Whitby with the kids in tow, 3 boys aged between 8 and 13, it's difficult to find things to do to entertain them all - apart from giving them the WiFi code! So... read more

There are two evening walks that start from the whale bones opposite the Grand Hotel: the Dracula Walk and the Ghost Walk -- we went on the latter. Our guide Claire was excellent, and struck just the right tone. The walk lasts around 70 minutes, and involves a series of short stories at various locations. It's suitable for both adults... More

I went on the Dracula walk with my 9 year old son and we both thoroughly enjoyed our walk. Harry is an wonderful storyteller with a fascinating mix of fact and fiction about Bram Stoker and the creation of the Dracula stories, along the way we saw some parts of Whitby we never know existed. We were captivated and Harry... More

Thoroughly enjoyed every minute!! Not at all scary, very factual and visiting parts of Whitby not likely to be seen wandering around the town. Harry was a great guide and storyteller, personally I found him to genuinely include everyone in the group and great with the children in our group. Lovely way to spend part of the evening. Only disappointment... More

Went with 3 children on the ghost walk, which lasted an hour, There were a lot of people on the tour- over 30- so if you were stood at the back it was difficult to hear- especially on top of the car sounds . Was a pleasant way to spend an hour, but as I couldn't hear half of it,... More

Spending a week in Whitby with the kids in tow, 3 boys aged between 8 and 13, it's difficult to find things to do to entertain them all - apart from giving them the WiFi code! So on the Thursday night we tried the ghost walk with Harry Collett... Wow! The boys actually enjoyed it and we had an interesting... More

Went on the ghost walk on Halloween. The walk lasted 45 minutes - not the 75 minutes advertised on the website. The walk guide (Harry Collett) had no clue about captivating an audience, could barely be heard and filled much of the time with pointless walking and silly activities. The tour was neither scary or particularly informative. Not particularly expensive at... More

My friend and I are two young (ish!) adults, and found both the ghost walk and the Dracula walk - both done by Harry - to be much more suited to children/young families. He seemed more interested in going "boo" at the kids than anything else. Disappointing.

Went on the Dracula walk with my 12 year old daughter a couple of nights ago. Our guide was Harry, who was full of information about Bram Stoner, and also made it entertaining and amusing. Lasted about 80 minutes and takes in parts of Whitby away from the main areas. Lots of steps, but you can go for fish and chips... More

Four of us having a lovely weekend in whitby and we decided to go on the ghost walk. You meet at the whale bone at 7.30 and are greeted by Claire, dressed the part in black bonnet, Cape and long skirt. The tour takes around 90 minutes and is excellent value at £5 per person. Claire starts the tour with... More

I had looked up the ghost and Dracula walks when I arrived in Whitby and was disappointed to see none would run during my stay so I was delighted on my last full day to see the sign next to the Whale Bone Arches saying the Dracula Walk was that evening. For only £5 you get a fun and interesting... More
