Top ways to experience Jubilee Gardens and nearby attractions

The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Southbank
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.

    Worth a stop
Definitely worth a visit if your in the area with young kids. Mine are 9 and 11 and they really enjoyed it. Fully enclosed which is good. Little squirrels running around and right next to the eye for some good photos.

Lovely place to relax while your kids enjoy themselves
Took our little ones to the playground after visiting the Shrek place nearby. It is situated next to the London Eye. There are plenty of places for adults to sit and watch their kids in the enclosed playground. Our kids played for absolutely ages and I could see they wete loving it. We managed to chill out a bit while they played too. All round, a lovely playground.

    Great Playground with Stunning Views
A fantastic children's playground with stunning views of the London Eye. A great selection of children's activities in the playground, well maintained, consistently busy but still accessible, extensive seating spaces for adults. Highly recommended and very well located. Perfect for a picnic after visiting the London Eye.

Jubilee Gardens are right next to the London Eye. Our daughter spotted the playground from the top of the London Eye so we said she could go in it when we got off. The playground was quite small but there was plenty to do for her. There is seating areas for the adults inside the playground. Jubilee Gardens is mainly laid to grass with a spacious path around it.

Goods views of the London Eye and the Thames and a kids play area but nothing else. London has many good parks and open spaces but sadly, this is not amongst them.

Nice free playground which my 7 year old enjoyed. Lots going on to watch and very close to Waterloo Station. Good place to spend before or after going to the Aquarium etc.

Always something going on here. Right by the London eye. Entertainers performing. No alcohol allowed in the park. Ice cream 🍦 going rate is a fiver from all the vans.

Jubilee Park and Gardens was busy when I came, but I still took away from my experience that the place is a fantastic spot for the community to enjoy (and tourists, of course). It’s central to many must-see destinations in the city, including the London Eye (next door!). It felt safe and relatively clean, especially considering the summer crowds. Families with kids will particularly enjoy the park. Check it out!

I was not happy that there are kids right there and people drinking next to them. This is not very good place to come with kids.

Good place to: have a picnic, play with your pup, people-watch, listen to buskers, enjoy some food and drink, watch the London Eye, etc.

There are some eateries along the embankment (hot dogs, fish and chips, places selling alcohol), and though there's only one public toilet (which costs a pound, yikes), if you walk a little north to the Southbank Centre, there are free toilets inside.
