Exmouth has all the things we love as locals in London, a few pubs, excellent food for brunch or dinner, and most importantly several Sunday roast options. I go as often as I can and it's a bit of hidden gem in North London that's a must stop if you want the local experience!

Why would anyone commission an architect to design a restaurant like Paul's with a concrete floor that guarantees noise all the time. Bank holiday I fancied coffee and a nice cake for tea The noise was horrible and especially for the counter but most disappointing were the cakes. Which were ordinary rather dry and not very imaginative or tasty. What... More

Lots of eateries and lots of choice, but some of the old charm has worn off as the new chains have streamed in and raised the price of the rent and amenities to change the atmosphere of what once was a little oasis.

This is an amazing place. Its filled with awesome restaurants and stores, as well as the best tattoo parlour in London. Its also far enough from the centre to be calm during the week, but it does get busy over the weekend. Places worth visiting are Pizza Pilgrims, Santore, the pub (great eco beers), and of course the tattoo parlour... More

This is such a nice street with lots of nice bars and restaurants. The atmosphere is lovely with the fairy lights across the street. The neighbourhood is really calm, even on a Friday night.

I went on a Thursday, and the market only had about 10 stalls out, the stalls were mostly Indian, but I did find one french vendor selling a delicious potato dish.

A city centre market ideal for local produce and clothing with a cafe. We had a snack lunch and found the menu to be basic it had all you needed for a quick bite. The food was prepared fresh and arrived quickly. No complaints about the food or service.

This is such a lovely street full of great bars and restaurants which looks so pretty at night with fairy lights running down the street. Moro is great for Spanish food/tapas. The Japanese Cafe is very traditional and I can't wait to go back there for a meal. The Pub is traditional and there are some great craft & antique... More

I visited twice on a recent trip to London, first time in early evening when bars were just starting to get cocktail business, the second time at lunch time when there were stalls serving a wide range of tasty looking street food at very reasonable prices.

Staying in Clerkenwell

Neighbourhood Profile
Clerkenwell
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.
