    Customer Service
This review is for James who works for Customer Service at Kings Cross Station Platform 10. I was travelling from Leighton Buzzard to Cornwall by train. He very kindly lifted my heavy suitcase onto the train on his way to work at Leighton Buzzard station. The train was rammed with passengers due to two cancellations. We both had to stand by the doors. He advised me which lines and platforms to use for my journey to Paddington. I was grateful for that. He did the same for other passengers who asked. He then went above and beyond escorting me through my journey to Kings Cross station carrying my suitcase when needed. We finally said our goodbyes once I was safely on the right platform to continue on to to Paddington. I can't thank you enough James for your help today. You have made my journey home stress free. You are a star!!

    Platform 9 3/4
This station was opened in 1852 by the Great Northern Railway. It stands on the Euston Road. This is a historic location as the final battle of Boudicca was held here. She is also supposed to be buried here. On my last trip to London I took up the quest of uncovering majority of the places of the monopoly game. One such place was the King’s Cross Station. What I did not know was that my daughters also wanted to visit this station for another reason, its connection to Harry Potter and the The Harry Potter Shop. We visited the Platform 9 ¾ from where the protagonist departs for Hogwarts. We saw the Trolley through the wall and all memorabilia associated with Harry Potter. This is a huge happening station with an underground and an international station connected to it. It was designed by Lewis Cubitt. We took the LNER to Edinburgh from here.

Long lines on Sunday evening around 7 pm
Waited in line for a long time, even on a Sunday night at 7 pm. Had to hurry up and take pictures, though the trolley is very nice to include and pictures turned out great. The souvenir shop also had a very long line to pay for purchases. We thought this would be a quick stop before getting dinner, but it was a drag. Quality and selection of the souvenir shop is fine; it’s just the very long lines that are difficult.

    Harry Potter Back to Hogwarts
This is one of my favourite rail stations! On 1st of September, I’m sure people found the station packed, but it won’t be surprise for HP fan! Thanks to the station’s management for allowing to announce the departure of the Hogwarts Express! This can be easily miser by them, but they did not and made the HP fans life so fantastic! The station is busy as usual, but clean and very well organised! The event on 1st of Sept was well addressed and organised! Hands down to the people who made this so memorable!

LNER First Class Lounge at Kings Cross
For anyone with a First Class LNER ticket, this is a very nice retreat before or after your journey. Hidden on the first floor near the Harry Potter shop, accessible by lift. Obviously converted from old office space, it still retains an old-world feeling, yet is fresh and light. Complimentary light refreshments, clean toilets, and the staff were professional, helpful, and friendly. A great discovery for me. KW, Australia

    Platform 9 3/4
I love the structure of this station, is very impressive and easy to navigate. Here you will find the Harry Potter shop and a chance to get in line to pose for a photo at platform 9 3/4. I visited the Giraffe stop for a full English breakfast and a hot tea before my train. The only negative is its absolutely baltic so make sure to wrap up if your waiting around for your train for a while.

    For all connections.
The hotel where we stayed is at a walkable distance from this station. This is most convenient to explore near and far away cities and towns. Well connected trains and also underground metro also have international connections. I used to go there almost every morning for a leisurely stroll. Superb, vibrant and always active.

    Ok
We got a train into this station and used it to go back to the train station we had come from. The place was reasonably busy when we arrived and seemed clean. Location is good with a tube station here also. For the return journey the train information wasn't communicated and we had to guess the platform the train would be leaving from. When it came to boarding quite a few people went early and were asking some staff which were near to the train where it was going. The outside area could have been cleaner.

You have to see the Platform 9 3/4
As a harry potter fan, most of you probably know this station. I came on New Year's Eve and this station was great. This place is also not used for foreign train trips. I learned this after arriving here, it is a very big and clean station, and it also has a lot of cafes and restaurants

A functional and well-organized train station, with exceptional architecture! Crowded, but well organized. Here, Harry Potter fans can find Platform 9¾. You will have to stand in line for a picture!

Nice train station with great businesses inside, surroundings also very good. I wanted to have a 30 min having a coffee, enjoying the inside upstairs terrace, and having a remote meeting session.
Would have been a 5 stars (good terrace and wifi) except for.. the endless audio announcement of all trains, stops and so on; and very loud. So I advise against going there except if you love train announcements.
There is a reason why airports have stopped those endless announcements, to increase quality time of passengers. It seems the company running King's Cross station has not understood it. In an age where people rely on their phone and displays in the station, no need for those announcements, they are unnecessary and experience ruining noise.

If you catch this when there's not a queue, that's good. We skipped standing in line for the selfie 🤳. The adjacent gift shop is nice, and you can have a professional photo taken.

The food was good in this restaurant, but I was extremely annoyed that the menu outside only referred to lunchtime. It was a special price menu but not applicable for the evening which was when we were visiting. I felt this was very misleading.

Today my wife and young kid were waiting for the train to Cambridge and I asked a couple of times the number of the platform for this train. The first time I asked, the gent looked at his gadget and told me that still no platform was assigned and I had to wait.
5 mins before the train was expected, I asked again to a group of gents and they told me that the platform is assigned just when the train is at the station. I let them know that I was with young kids and baggage and if the platform was in the other side of the station we could not get it because 1 o 2 mins are very low to arrive the platform. They said they could not do anything, I said thank you and when I turned back one of them said “Spanish” in a not very friendly tone. I wonder if that was a racist comment and therefore a crime…

Gents, I would like to remind you that you are working facing the client and If you don’t like the Spaniards is fine, just leave your work and avoid them.

Interesting place. Many people, most of then not British though.
The Harry Potter shop was closed , but there are a lot of shops, cafeterias, places where you can grab a bite.

Kings Cross Station is an excellent railway/tube station in the heart of London.

I can't help feeling however that it does suffer slightly by sitting next door to its far more illustrious brother - St Pancras. Maybe that is just in my head though, I don't know.

Kings Cross certainly feels newer and fresher, even though it is in fact 16 years older - having been built (or rather, opened) as the main terminus for Great Northern Railway's London to York line in 1852. The station is the work of London born architect Lewis Cubbit.

It feels newer perhaps because between 2008 and 2013, Network Rail carried out extensive restoration on it, and it now holds Grade 1 Listed Status.

Upstairs there are a plethora of restaurants and whatnot, though I had neither the time or the inclination to go and look at these, whilst downstairs you have your platform and your large screens displaying your relevant information.

Tucked away near to aforementioned screens is the now world famous Platform 9¾, from the Harry Potter franchise. For the few remaining people who dont know that this means - Platform 9¾ is, quite literally, half a suitcase trolley embedded in the wall, and yet there was still a large group of tourists diligently queueing up to have their picture taken with it. I believe you have to pay for said pictures too, which I think is a shame. I'm not anti-capitalist by any stretch of the imagination, however this just feels seedy, and so I moved along swiftly.

Trading on the Harry Potter link, there is a Harry Potter shop on site too, though this was closed when I was there due to renovation work.

The station has a beautiful fan design ceiling that is only rivalled (and indeed bettered) by St Pancras.

Outside the station are some rather nondescript stone blocks that actually make a nice place to sit and have a snack and a drink. I did this on a couple of occasions.

I can't wax as lyrical about Kings Cross as I can about St Pancras. One is the Midlands and one is Yorkshire. There is only ever going to be one winner.

That being said, I think this is a beautiful station and one I wouldn't hesitate to travel in to or out of again
