Went here for drinks before a Jack the Ripper tour and it was just grubby with sticky tables. No toilet paper and just an air of 'could do better'. I could see that it relies heavily on tourists but needs to make an effort as we may want to recommend or come back. It wasn't the best that it could be and The menu was so dirty that I wiped my hands with an an ant-ibac sachet just after picking it up

Have been here a few times for food, and am yet to be disappointed. The food is reasonably priced for a pub in central London, and the portions are definitely sufficient.

The beer / ales selection is also pretty good, allowing a choice of a wide range of high quality beers.

I would be sure to book a table for dinner on a weekend as it can get busy!

Only downside is some of the clientele. Both times I have been in here, there have been a couple of regulars who made us feel quite uncomfortable. Talking aggressively about the football on the tv and trying to engage us in conversation. Don’t let his out you off though, it is a great little pub!

Met a couple of friends this evening for a catch up and meal. Ordered at bar but waitress service to table. There seemed to be only one waitress. It was very busy and, for some reason, some unidentifiable music was turned on. It was impossible to hear above the noise of the patrons and totally unnecessary - it just added to the cacaphony of noise. I got my food, fish & chips, first. After about 5 minutes I decided to start to eat before my food got cold. About three minutes later one of my friends got his food, burger and chips. After about 10 minutes my other friend's food had not arrived and I caught the attention of the sole waitress and enquired where the meal was. She had ordered breast of duck and dauphinoise potatoes. After another couple of minutes her meal arrived. Unfortunately we had already paid at the bar, otherwise I would not have paid at all. It was not satisfactory and this pub should stick to serving alcohol and leave the food to reliable restaurants. Will not be going there again.

Had a business lunch with a colleague here today and it was great. The atmosphere is lovely, staff friendly and the food was v good.
Nice inside, a good choice on the menu. I had the steak sandwich and the steak was soft and delicious, my colleague had the gourmet burger and was v pleased with it. The skinny chips were excellent.
For £22 for two of us, including drinks, I thought it was also pretty good value for money.
