About
Village has become a firm fixture on Soho's gay scene since opening in 1991.It does offer something for everyone 'all under one roof'. Ground floor dance floor is where all the snap crackling pop, chart and commercial dance action happens with DJ's Lady Lloyd, Aamyko, Raven Mandella, Raul Villaetc + our gorgeous gogo boys on the bar! Descend into the basement club, where you'll find the best in chunky funky deep house & tech with the cream of London's dance scene DJ's Brent Nicholls, Zach Bach, Massimo Paramour, Yvette Lindquist etc. Through to the 'Cafe bar' you'll find a more relaxed vibe with lots of seating & comfy booths. Further more, head upstairs to the new 'Cocktail Lounge' where you'll find another bar with luxurious booths, chandeliers and a stunning view of all the action right up Old Compton Street. We are now open from 4pm everyday and you are also very welcome to take your drinks al fresco onto Brewer Street where you can drink in the afternoon sun :) Pop in & say hi!

I would definitely discourage people from getting into this venue. Me and my party of five paid £10 each to get in and after just one drink, JUST ONE DRINK, one of the bouncer picked my friend, the nicest girl in the world, the girl who had just paid dinner to a homeless man we met just outside and was so sorry for him, and told her she had to leave because she was a problem. She was causing absolutely no trouble, she was just dancing with our little group of friends. We had had no interaction whatsoever with other customers. The group was well looked after by myself, with me being perfectly sober because of my medical condition.
When I asked the bouncer for an explanation, no explanation was given. The bouncers agreed that she wasn’t causing any problem, that she wasn’t even particularly drunk and in fact they spent 10 minutes outside talking to her, saying that it hadn’t been their decision and blaming the management for what happened. One of them even admitted they had probably done a mistake.
To my calm complaints pointing to the fact that it was a very bad business strategy to charge people an entry fee and then kick them out after less than one hour to get more people in and charge more entry fees, there was no response.
When I requested that the entry fee was refunded, we were told there was nothing they could have done.
We felt extremely embarrassed, annoyed and I would say even robbed of our £50. Sorry but this is not the right way to do business guys, I will strongly recommend all my friends to absolutely avoid this venue.

Sorry to hear that your evening was cut short. The judgement of the management was that the person in question was to drunk to continue safely and the decision was taken to remove them.
Kudos on helping the homeless though, but sadly this has no bearing on the situation here.

I was a single female who asked very politely at the door if I could possible go in to use the toilet and was told by a very sarcastic doorman to try one of the bars down the street! I did ask at another bar and was shown the way to the toilet by the doorman - a completely different experience. Horrible attitude!!

Anyone saying Aaron the doorman is a homophobe is a actual imbecile. Hes the sole reason I come back to this bar. The only straight man who actually cares about us gays. Maybe if you all could hold your liquor and keep it in your pants and behave yourselves and try acting your damn age, you would be able to have a real conversation with the man to realize that. Stop acting like trash and spreading lies here because you probably got trashed and got kicked out.

I went for a night out with a friend and as has been for many months there is a certain doorman who’s name is Aaron who is the most homophobic straight doorman who I have known in 30 years on the soho gay scene. I have now been barred for 3 months solely for voicing to this doorman about how uncomfortable he made me feel when he was working at the venue. I totally agree with many of the recent reviews of straight homophobic doorstaff working at village bar.

Amazing atmosphere, great happy hour from 4 to 9 halfprice drinks and the quality is amazing. If you want a porn star or cosmopolitan I’d definitely go to Shaz a lovely bartender

…….one poor guy was on the bar. I waited and waited and waited to be served. I left in the end. I’m not that hard up for money that I can’t afford full price…….I would have died of dehydration waiting to be served. Such a shame.

ROBBED ROBBED ROBBED !
I’m just writing this review because of someone robbed me in this Gay Bar!!
On 19 July 2023 I went with my best friend in this gay bar to have a drink and enjoy the music. Unfortunately whole my wallet was stolen in this Gay Bar it was around 00:40 which already was 20 July date… Someone from the bar just stoled my expensive wallet inside with all my money cash, all my debit cards, ID card and my driving license.
I’m feeling very bad and robbed!! Because nobody FROM THE BAR AND SECURITY PERSON WANTED TO HELP
ME AT ALL!!!
THIS IS REALLY SERIOUS ISSUE!! I already have crime references from the police!! But the Bar they don’t want to provide me with CCTV.
All my ID documents and all
my money was in my expensive wallet which was stolen…. At the moment I’m staying without ID documents because I’m from different country and I can’t travel without them…. i’m fully stuck :((((

@Mihail OMG Buddy the same thing happened to me !!! They refused to hand over the CCTV Footage. Up Unti recently they have now said the 31 day mark has passed and there is no footage left to retrieve. However the lovely officers I am dealing with have said they refused more then once and now they are telling us they would have burned the footage to a disk for the officers but the time has now lapsed. The bar is in on these type of things I am now SURE of it !!!! I have been pushing to sue the venue itself.
