The area
Address
Neighbourhood: St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.

Fantastic cheese shop with a huge array of produce to taste and buy, as well as doing cheese tastings downstairs, and selling lovely cheese knives and boards too.

I ordered over £100 worth of cheese that I intended to share with family over Christmas. This is a very significant sum as I was providing the cheeses for all of my family over the festive period. The order was placed in November to ensure it arrived in time and without issue. Over half of it was spent on truffled Brie which was to be the star of the festive cheeseboard. The first order arrived without the Brie and another cheese missing. I called about this and the seemingly helpful lady offered to pop the missing items in the post for next day delivery. The new delivery arrived on the 23rd but to my dismay there was no Brie in sight! I would like a refund of the cheeses that did not arrive. I won’t be ordering from this company again.

This review is based on the service not the products. I placed and paid for my order in October for Christmas delivery. It was quite an extensive order for me. Upon opening I discovered 7 items were missing. Not easy without a delivery note enclosed! Not all were cheese/perishables. On phoning they offered to send out the next day even though I was originally told items were out of stock. Thankfully the items weren’t sent as a gift. I would have been unaware what was received. Hopefully the cheese will prove better but won’t be using this company again.

We visit this fabulous cheese shop every time we visit London. We continue to try different tasty cheeses each time, there are so many to try & buy. They don’t just sells cheese there are scotch eggs, pork pies, cheese plates & boards & cheese knives. Free tastings & the staff are always very friendly & helpful.

Just from the outside alone, I would give this cheese shop 5 stars! It feels like you are stepping back in time.
Once you enter, the beautifully filled cheese counter dominates the space - and so it should! The range of cheese is fantastic and you can try before you buy - my husband was in heaven!
The service was exemplary and never rushed. Sam, who served us, was so knowledgeable and a true cheese lover! He was friendly and had a lovely welcoming vibe about him. He really was a legend, giving us tips and advice.

Finally made it to this cheese shop. It’s larger, yet similar to Neal’s Yard Dairy. It has a very impressive selection of cheeses to select from. We bought some Red Leicester and it was very good.

What a wonderful store. The lovely man with glasses spent a while with us, despite there being a long queue patiently talking us through the cheese and giving us tasters as we decided what to get. The customers were luckily just as patient. Not once did we feel rushed. We were very well informed. And his service was exceptional which meant we all got cheeses we have no doubt we will love, including a young child of 10. I will always return to this store and highly recommend!

For a firm that flaunts its eco-friendly values, using cool wool to wrap its cheese etc - treating its paper vouchers in the same fashion as cheese is irresponsible, wasteful and destructive. Four vouchers - weight about 8 grams - arrived by courier in a 20 cm cube box, complete with wadding. Where's the sense? What's wrong with the postal system (this was a UK delivery, after all). Will be going to the shop later in the year, not ordering online as last year the gift hamper I received from generous friends the cheddar cheese had less than a month to go on its use by. Very obviously using up close to date cheese on gift orders, reckoning that the recipients wouldn't make a fuss - which I didn't then. I hope the shop service is better.
