While exploring the area around Hampstead Heath and you will discover the Highgate Ponds where you can supposedly swim year round but I'm sure it is best in the warm weather.

Great place to hang out in the summer months. So glad this sort of thing exists in London, even though I don't necessarily take advantage of it all that often.

I took my 14 & 12 year olds to the ladies only pond this afternoon and we had a lovely time. Just a few things to bear in mind: -if female nudity makes you uncomfortable go to the mixed pond instead of the ladies only...More

The men's pond is a lovely place to swim & socialise with a mixed & quirky crowd. Best on a sunny days at the beginning and end of summer when the water is cooler and the crowds stay away. Unique.

We visited the mixed ponds. Major issue is just how small the space is on the banks - towels effectively edge to edge across the grass and paving areas. Water is cold but ok and kids need to have an easy swimming test to check...More

Probably avoid on a summers weekend as it will be completely packed but fun. Mid week is cool. It's a pond so don't expect anything else.
