PROS
* Quiet exclusive upper class neighborhood
* Location of Abbey Road Studios and the zebra crossing

CONS
* Private residential area

“I VISITED THIS PLACE”…
… To once shin walk on the zebra crossing at Abbey Road Studios (see my recent reviews of all of that). I walked to and from the St. John’s Wood tube station. It was quiet.

WAS IT WORTH THE COST?
It was free to walk there

WOULD “I VISIT THIS PLACE” AGAIN?
Sure, but not only or primarily to be at Abbey Road for a third time, but to visit St. John’s Wood Synagogue.

ADVICE
* Go if you want to see a nice upper class neighborhood
* Go through the neighborhood to get to Abbey Road Studios

St Johns Wood is a suburb of North London and is close to Regent's Park. With it's location so close to Central London it is quite sought after. There are LOADS of fancy houses in the area however many are behind fences, high gates and thick bushes.

In one street there was a security guard when I visited. Either there is someone very important living there or the residents are quite paranoid.

The main draws for me to the area are the Abbey Road studios and the Tube station which is a perfect example of art deco architecture. If you like that sort of thing then pay the area a visit.

St John's Wood High Street is a gem hidden away near Regent's Park. Surrounding area is of great interest too. Close to major bus routes and tube stations.

Staff is incompetent, don’t know their own many, mislead customers and ask them to pay for their own mistakes. Outrageous!

Snobby and dull , it might be an affluent area , but contains some of the rudest, most vacuous people in London

Fabulous cuisine and service, albeit needs a bit more TLC.
Enjoyed the Tandoori Chicken n Vegetable Briani.
The desert idea of putting a couple of deserts on your table not great idea or options.
Suggest for the opening months in a localised restaurant, little touches are added. Leave this to their own resources.
You cannot think that the clientele in this area isnt fussy and they do relish the personal touch.

There is so much to see and enjoy in St John's Wood. Favourites include: Chucs, Gails, Panzers, St John's Wood Church, and the florist on the corner!
There is also one of the best hospitals in the UK - St John and St Elizabeth Hospital. Patients fly in from around the world to see Mr Majid Hashemi, the UK's leading Bariatric Surgeon who specialises in procedures for Obesity. He is utterly brilliant and his knowledge and skill is life changing.

It is a wonderful area with treelined streets and beautiful houses and apartments. I am very lucky to live here and have done so for most of my life. I love walking around the area and the people who work in the shops come from the four corners of the globe and they are friendly, charming and helpful. There are lots of tastes catered for and without giving separate naming and praising go and explore and I am sure you will find you are looking for. Not only do we have Regent's Park (the renowned Zoo is housed here) we have Primrose Hill. That leads to Primrose Hill Village which is a delight in itself. Although it says on the questions "When did you go"-Always is my answer and if I did not live here I would definitely make the move so I hope you will visit a Shangri La.

Chucs St Johns Wood.
Saturday 24 July. So, its 3pm on a Saturday and the restaurant is half empty both outside and inside but I am denied a table as ‘it is too busy to accept walk ins’ (I am not a walk in but a person!). The fact that all the empty tables were occupied by invisible people might have something to do with the fact that I was alone, female and non-white. I found a lovely restaurant with delicious food and where the staff were civilized, courteous and WELCOMING. I walked past at 4pm and only one table was occupied outside and it was half empty inside. There are lots of lovely restaurants in St Johns Wood so I suggest people bypass this pretentious new comer.

Good friendly high street and plenty to see in this leafy part of London- the restaurants and decent outside seating has brought life to this village with a very chilled charm.
