The teenager I was with wanted sweets only. That is almost the top floor. Lots of kids and happiness. Bought toys before and they were adored. An experience.

It's overwhelming and overstimulating, but my kids loved loved loved running around and getting to try out all the cool new toys and see the lego displays. It's like walking into a toy wonderland with bubbles and flying saucer toys going at the opening.

Absolutely impossible to browse or 'shop' in the old sense of the verb. Grossly overcrowded and noisy with aggressive street trader types inside the front door. They give all the wrong impression and one feels put-upon before one gets to the stairs. I hated the whole experience. I cannot imagine what a 4 year old (for whom I attempted to... More

On a recent trip to London, I bought a couple of toys from here but I won't do it again. Far more expensive than other places and the selection is not that huge compared to other toy stores or department shops. I wasn't impressed by the staff performing but I guess it's a hit with children and tourists. I expect... More

We always visit Hamleys as the experience is just fantastic there are always staff displaying toys , magic tricks and flying drones which is fun to watch. There is too much to list in the review but there is something for everyone from star wars to Lego from bennies to Barbie the only downside is trying to get your children... More

Made a quick stop here between tourist attractions and wish we'd had more time. Our boys (7&9) thoroughly enjoyed the demonstrations and floors after floors of toys. Don't miss this if you're traveling with kids.

The U.K biggest toy store and with a kid in toe it's a must see or even without one. It is floor upon floor of toys, anything your looking for I'm sure you could find there. It was a bit overwhelming and we tried to navigate to only the things our child liked, Peppa Pig and Thomas the Tank Engine... More

This reminded me of visiting FAO Schwartz in NYC as a kid! An epic store with many interactive staff demonstration toys. So much to explore (including many British themed lego creations). A great way to spend some time exploring!

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
