We visited on Saturday afternoon, with our 4 children (9, 8, 6 and 2). The place was easy to find, about a 5 minute walk from the station. On arrival the receptionist wasn't very welcoming or attentive, so much so she put a wristband on...More

Visited with three children aged 4-7 and more suited to younger children as many of resources too small for bigger kids. Glad booked on gruffalo story telling for extra £1.50 as this was the best 45 mins of our 4 hour visit. Good picnic area...More

I was told about this place by a friend and was surprised (as the mother of two young children) that I'd not heard about it before. It really is a lovely place. There are two indoor areas to play in, with lots of imagination-inducing settings,...More

This place is great for toddlers who love their books! The indoor and outdoor playgrounds are ok, but probably not worth the visit alone, much like the cafe. However, the storyteller who delivered ‘a squash and a squeeze’ was amazing! A truly magical 30 minutes...More

Our three year old boy loved the play areas (outdoors and indoors), which fired his imagination and gave him an excellent work out. The Julia Donaldson exhibition was magical. It brought Donaldson's and (Axel) Schaeffler's wondrous worlds to life.

It depends on your kids - some people spend the whole day here, but we'd think you'd want at least an hour or two before your exhibition. We have a cafe and film screenings, two floors of Story Worlds and a Story Garden to... More
