Since 1864, there has been a theatre under the arches at Charing Cross Station. Known throughout the years by several names (Gattis-in-The-Arches, The Players Theatre and the New Players Theatre), the theatre was rechristened the Charing Cross Theatre in January, 2011 to mark the change in its ownership and the new era on which it was embarking. Although the Music Hall tradition is still honoured with periodic Sunday performances, the Charing Cross Theatre has operated as a legitimate commercial venue since 2002. The current management is committed to presenting affordable theatrical productions of the highest standards, while maintaining a collaborative atmosphere where seasoned professionals can work with emerging young talent

Came to watch The Knowledge this lovely little theatre is tucked away in The Arches between Charing Cross and Embankment stations. You can hear the trains rumbling past but it didn't detract from the performance. We sat in the balcony with side view seats which...More

Have lived in London nearly twenty years, walked up and down Villiers Street countless times, but this was still a new discovery. Great little intimate and creative theatre. Saw The Knowledge which was fantastic. Will be keeping an eye on their upcoming programme.

The theater itself is a very comfortable venue. Seats are much more comfortable than most theatres in London. Its a small theater and all seats have an unrestricted view of the stage. The sound booth is behind the audience. There's a good view of the...More

The staff make this place. The bar staff were also at the auditorium door, so they are always busy. Very polite, smiling, great service. Nice auditorium, roomy seats. Wine isn't great, but you're not coming for the drinks.. Please accept American Express!

With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized
lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is
not just considered the heart of this bustling London

esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as
well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most
