Getting to the ExCel made easy

Went to the ExCel for a trade show and decided to get off the tube at North Greenwich and take the cable car over to the ExCel. The trade show had a "deal" with the cable car so... read more

I was in hope the cable car was going to give me these amazing views of London which I had never had before! Yet it doesn't give you much. Okay the views are pretty but you are cramped in a pod with other people and can't really look around in all directions and their heads are in the way and... More

Went to the ExCel for a trade show and decided to get off the tube at North Greenwich and take the cable car over to the ExCel. The trade show had a "deal" with the cable car so we got a one way ticket for £2.50 rather than £5. Worth asking if you are going to an ExCel event if... More

Visited with colleagues and customers for something a little different as breakfast meeting was over booked and what a good call it turned out to be. We were all very excited as despite some being regular visitors to London, had never been or even knew of this attraction. Seemless entry as car arrives every 30 seconds so even if busy,... More

It was 20 minutes and it was worth it. We had good weather but i can imagine it being good in bad weather (maybe not fog though!) The views are really beautiful. My sister is terrified of heights but she fwlt comfortable in the cable car and actually moved seats at one point. I would say go for it if... More

Jumped onto the cable cars today on a whim (me and 7-year-old son). Pretty quick lines, helpful staff, brilliant views over London.

This is a brilliant excursion for anyone if the Greenwich area. My wife and I were staying in London and decided to do some London tourist things including the cable car ride. The price is reasonable for the ride but perhaps not the duration. However, the views over London were absolutely phenomenal. We were really lucky to be there on... More

I'm petrified of heights and got challenged to get on this! So rather gently sat myself in the car....and waited. The day was exceptionally windy but having said that (and in between screams!) I felt very safe. A very smooth ride and a great way to see the City skyline. Highly recommend it.

If you want to see London from a completely different angle then I would definitely recommend this. Allows you to see the city to the West and a part of real London to the right. Is also great for all ages and our kids loved spotting all the different building and place they had been to

Staying in Greenwich

Neighbourhood Profile
Greenwich
Greenwich Mean Time starts here, so to speak, as the very concept of global time was established at Royal Observatory, just one of several buildings of architectural interest in Greenwich. Indeed, the whole of Greenwich's historic town center, its Royal Park and a number of related buildings (and one world famous ship, the Cutty Sark) make up the UNESCO World Heritage site known as Maritime Greenwich. Today a laser beam is shot out across the night sky from the Observatory to mark the location of the Prime Meridian. Other bold (some say brash) 21st century additions to the area include landmarks such as The O2 entertainment complex (previously known as the Millennium Dome) and the Air Line cable cars, which offer scenic transport across the Thames between North Greenwich and the Royal Docks.
