I used to greatly prefer the Paddington/Westminster area to visit and stay in London, but I have changed my mind. We stayed in Southwark this time and it was great. A little quieter and very artsy, being so close to the Tate.

Southwark is really one of my favorite districts in London. Southwark Cathedral, Bourough's market, and Clink's museum are all great attractions in this region, not to mention the Globe theatre. It sits on the River Thames. Try to go during Non tourist season to enjoy...More

I finished my visit to the St. Paul's Cathedral and kept walking till I reached the Southwark. I was contemplating whether I should cross it on foot to reach the other side of the Thames or should I go back to the Cathedral. I am...More

Stayed here first leg of London trip. Busy but not crazy busy. Close to everything, including public transport. A great place for London newbies, get a taste of London before joining the masses on the other side of the bridges. Chill-axing in the evenings at...More
