This area is one of the oldest parts of London and is at the south bank of the River Thames, from London Bridge towards Elephant and Castle. It is within easy walking distance from the West End and is a bustling area with The Shard and The London Eye located here.

Southwark is one of our favourite areas of London. It is so steep in history, art and markets that there is certainly something for everyone. You could certainly look at my reviews of many to do things in this area, to get a feeling for Southwark (cheap solicitation).

We stayed very briefly in Southwark for a few nights at the beginning of our trip. It is a more local and low key area than some of the other tourist places. There are plenty of pubs around. There are a few sights to see, the best part being the Borough Markets.

Across from St Paul's Cathedral and the Millennium foot bridge, you find yourself in Southwark. So many interesting places to see, The Shard, The Golden Hind and of course Borough Market. Cross over and take a look.

Vibrant area of London, especially right by the river from the Tate modern to tower bridge. Every time we visit is seems to improve

A very happening area in Southeast London. I like the vibe here. There are many attractions nearby, including Parliament, Tower Bridge, Globe Theater, Tate Modern, and the Tower of London. The Shard Tower is here as well as is The London Eye. These sites are good for getting beautiful views of London, and the Shard has a few very nice... More

Southwark park is beautiful, the pond is full of ducklings, goslings and cygnets. There's a fantastic children's play area that is and we'll managed. The cafe is worth a visit.

We stayed at Blackfriars Bridge and began exploring the area on the the river bank at Blackfriars. The area is busy but has a village feel and the railway arches with their shops and bars, as well as Borough Market were great places to explore.
