Benjamin Franklin House is the world's only remaining Franklin home. For nearly sixteen years between 1757 and 1775, Dr Benjamin Franklin - scientist, diplomat, philosopher, inventor, Founding Father of the United States and more - lived behind its doors. The Historical Experience presents the excitement and uncertainty of Franklin's London years using his historic rooms as staging for a drama which seamlessly integrates live performance, cutting edge lighting, sound and projection technology.

I am an American living in London. Like most Americans, I had not realized Ben Franklin spent many years living in London. The problem, of course, is that not many artifacts from his life remain so the museum cleverly created a somewhat theatrical setup. I...More

I haven't been anywhere else where an actor (playing the landlady's daughter ) interacts with recorded dialogue couple with images projected onto two walls of virtually empty rooms. What a polymath Benjamin Franklin was and how appropriate to have a very modern way of exhibiting...More

Novel approach for the interesting historic tour; very good value for money. Lots of interesting background information in room where visitors wait for the tour start, but lighting poor in that room.

I really enjoyed my visit to Benjamin Franklin House, it is a hidden gem off the strand just seconds away from the hustle and bustle of Trafalgar Square. The historical experience is great and I would recommend it to anyone with an interest in history.

My visit did not get off to a promising start. I arrived 10 minutes before my booked tour but could get no-one to answer the door bell! As it was raining I retreated to the nearby railway arch for shelter but fortunately my second attempt...More

I discovered the visit by chance while doing some on-line research into Benjamin Franklin, a man about whom I knew little, save for his involvement in the history of the American independence movement. A short video begins the tour and then a young woman appears...More

With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized
lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is
