The Savoy Theatre is currently home to Gypsy which stars Imelda Staunton, Lara Pulver and Peter Davison. Don't miss Gypsy, one of the greatest ever Broadway musicals, as it transfers to the West End following its sell-out, rapturously acclaimed five-star run at Chichester Festival Theatre. Imelda Staunton delivers a 'knock-out performance' (The Independent) as Momma Rose in Jonathan Kent's 'dazzling revival' (Mail on Sunday), alongside Lara Pulver, who reprises her 'stunning' (The Independent) role as Louise. They'll be joined by Peter Davison as Herb, in this gloriously entertaining musical fable that features 'showstopping' (Mail on Sunday) choreography from Stephen Mear. Based on the true life memoirs of legendary burlesque entertainer, Gypsy Rose Lee, it tells the tale of Momma Rose and her two daughters, Baby June and Louise, trekking across America in their family vaudeville act. But times are changing, audiences are expecting more, and the two girls have their own ambitions in mind. The rise of burlesque is upon them, and nothing will ever be the same again for Momma Rose. With lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, book by Arthur Laurents and music by Jule Styne, this moving and 'scintillating' (The Times) production of Gypsy is the first to be seen in London for 40 years.

Such a stunning London theatre. It’s quite narrow, and very VERY tall! Been on all levels of this theatre. Balcony level can be pretty scary up there! Great views from the stalls, and such a beautiful theatre. Seats and walls are stunning.

I have seen this show twice, once with an understudy playing Effy and once with Amber Riley. I must say both were totally amazing but the star of the show for me, both times has been the girl who plays Dina! Her voice is sensationally...More

The Savoy Theatre must be the most disabled unfriendly in the world. We had a 10 minute walk right round the Savoy Hotel and through the loading bay to get wheelchair access into the theatre. Luckily the show was excellent with brilliant performances especially Amber...More

Went last night to see dreamgirls. I found it didn't live up to the expectations I had of it based on other people's experiences and recommendations. Found it loud and quick and the songs and dancing were nothing special.

The theatre was full on a Monday night, which means it is popular. I think that this would appeal more to the under-50's as the singing was very loud, but I wouldn't want to put you off!

I was, quite frankly, expecting a better musical show. There was an awful lot of loud screeching music and so so acting. Much better shows in the West End than this one.
