Its very nice to hear the history of the postal service. Previously the postal services were using an underground train to deliver the packages and letters faster around the city. But this stopped in 1995. This place also talks a lot about the penny black postage. The initial stamps used the queens head. In 2015, we are celebrating 175 years... More

Went here for genealogical research purposes. The museum is being put together and will open later. The staff were very helpful in accessing numerous historical reference papers in a comfortable research area.

Or at least that was what I was told when I visited. Was told by the receptionist that the museum is closed till 2016 and it will be at a different location at that time. The archives are available for people doing research though.

The employees have been very nice to me, but the whole exhibition room is exactly 10 pictures. Nothing more, it's actually an archive place.

Wow, all the museums' in London are free, thank-you. My husband wanted to see the "Viking" exhibit. However, the day we went, it was all booked for 2 days. the museum had lots to offer. the exhibits were countless and personell all around to answer questions.

Staying in Clerkenwell

Neighbourhood Profile
Clerkenwell
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.
