The history of Speakers' Corner goes back to the mid-19th century when Hyde Park was an assembly point for different workers' movements, and occasionally riots occurred. Judging by the declining numbers of both speakers and listeners it would seem that open-air speaking is becoming of...More

We stopped by Speaker's Corner at the end of September and were disappointed to see very few observers and only two speakers. One was talking about the Islamic religion and he was surrounded by similarly black-dressed men (only men) - no one commented at all....More

Good experience and interesting debates! A lot of knowledgeable people who love a good debate! Definately worth going to on a sunday and then enjoy a nice trip across the road to Edgware road for a nice meal!

Disappointed to find no speakers? Now it may be that Justin Beiber was on in Hyde Park or it may be free speech has gone! Either way sad not to here out spoken opinion.

Speakers Corner is on Sunday afternoons. But when there are big pop concerts most of the speakers stay away.

Interesting human debates. A people gathering of all kinds looking for a place to be heard. Not all are single contributors, some with organisation behind them
