Being quite long-in-the-tooth, I remember Tooley Street in the mid-1970s as rather the fag-end of London. It has been totally transformed in recent years, as a lot of it has been totally rebuilt & regenerated. It is near to the Shard, HMS Belfast, Hays Galleria...More

It wasn’t so long ago that the area here was dog eaten and decrepit. Rejoice in its transformation! Hays Wharf, the riverside walk, the new offices and eateries, a new theatre and much more. It’s a pleasure to walk from Tower Bridge to London Bridge.

The Hayes Galleria is quite a nice way to get to the river - then there are riverside walks up & down stream - with plenty of history. There are plenty of pubs along the way and places for food too. Tooley street is pretty...More

Last night I attempted to eat and drink at Jamie's Italian, let's say it didn't go well. It was around 9.30pm, the restaurant was around two thirds full, initially we asked to sit outside but I was informed that area was closed, fair enough, we...More

Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard,
the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond
any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some

browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street,
foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old
foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks
of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest
