The museum is in the middle of the work up to the RAF Centenary in 2018 and it is a bit of a mess. Having said that the aircraft are all great and I was like a little kid (I'm well over 60!) again. The highlight was the Spitfire Experience. For £10 I got to sit in a real Spitfire... More

Visiting the RAF museum with 3 friends was a real treat especially as 2 of them were ex RAF and one was reunited with the Royal Flight helicopter he used to fly in. Even though it is undergoing major redevelopment the museum is still fascinating and informative we particularly liked the history of the individual aircraft on display and were... More

A great day out for small as well as big boys. Many different types of planes with some interactive activities as well. It's a little out of the main part of London but parking is easy.

Went to museum today with my family including 2 small granddaughters. We all had a great time. Plenty to see for all ages. Next year is the 100th anniversary of the RAF and they are in the process of building a brand new museum on the site. So we shall certainly go back next year. Staff very helpful and the... More

The Hendon Royal Air-force Museum is in the borough of Barnet. It was started by Claude Graham-White, a wealthy entrepreneur who loved the idea of aeroplanes and cars not long before the first world war. Whilst there isn't much of the land left, Hendon was very open and rural early in the twentieth century, some of the original hangers, the... More

Took my niece and nephews around for an afternoon to get them out the house. They thoroughly enjoyed looking at all the planes and especially the interactive parts they could climb on

Despite the extensive extension work going on outside the building, its all as normal inside!! A wonderful opportunity to get up close with old aircraft, and children may even climb in the cockpits of some!! If you love aeroplanes this is the place to visit, all easily accessible too. Groups of scouts were having a wonderful time
