Slightly off the beaten track, but well worth the effort. I have been coming here since childhood so it is with pride I share this. This historic house is full of attractions, in the fabric of the house, the stories of its residents, and in it's amazing art collection. (Yes, the Rembrandt is real!) Combine your visit with a picnic... More

First time visitors. Greeted by friendly staff. Each room has books explaining the art and furniture. The art is superb and the story of the owners is interesting. The grounds are well designed by a C19 gardener. Wonderful walks. WEe will return

We live nearby but only visited recently. Lovely garden and superb views across London on a sunny day. The thousand pound pond at the bottom was very peaceful and ideal for picnics when warm. The house is nice with at least one Rembrandt and several Gainsboroughs. Definitely worth a visit if you have time.

We spent a lovely day here with our teenage granddaughter. The Mansion is beautiful lots of lovely architecture, and many works of art on display (if that's your thing). I love the Orangery the long windows let in so much light. After some tea from the cafe to refresh us, we enjoyed a stroll around the grounds. Lovely place to... More

Kenwood House is definitely worth popping in to - it is a beautiful house, has some stunning art (highlights include Rembrandt self-portrait, Vermeer, Gainsborough) and it is free to go in - what's not to like? The grounds are also beautiful, but do get busy at weekends.

This house was left to the nation and houses an art collection with lots of old masters. Entrance is free and it has good cafes.

This is a lovely place to visit, with some very helpful English Heritage staff/volunteers. Whilst not one of the most interesting in terms of architecture and furniture, it certainly has some wonderful works of art of historic value. Best of all, visits are free. At the northern end of Hampstead Heath, there's plenty of places to picnic in the well-kept... More

The restoration at Kenwood House is incredible. You can visit free of charge and the house itself is beautiful. There are a number of noteworthy paintings and there is a very nice tea room adjacent which serves breakfast and light meals. Well worth a journey outside of downtown London.
