We'd seen the old archway a few times but never visited the museum before. It's well laid-out and has information on the Knights in Jerusalem, Rhodes and Malta (which by coincidence we'd just been to) and up to the present-day St John's Ambulance Brigade. Lots...More

The museum is beautiful and it explains many historic events. It's for free and you can donate as much as you like. I enjoyed it very much, especially since I come from the Holy Land !

The mellow November day was perfect for a visit to the St John Museum and Priory in Clerkenwell - or what was left of it! A thousand years ago, ten acres of land in Clerkenwell were gifted to the Order of St John in Jerusalem...More

Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site
of an ancient meat market which remains in operation
today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally

focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough
time wondering through the area's maze of streets and
you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky
