This place has quite an exclusive piece of history who would have known that London had its own colloseum back in the day , filled with gladiators and dangerous games, this is all in the roman amphitheatre , real ruins and gladiator reconstructions, check it...More

I'd been walking past and through the Guildhall complex for a long time before having the time to drop into the art gallery for a visit. I did so on a rainy, late Saturday afternoon in mid-November. It's not an especially noteworthy collection but it's...More

Free - except for special exhibitions Walking in, what's in front of you are the Victorian paintings - not my favourite but very well presented and arranged and captioned. Then downstairs there are a lot of London-themed paintings from all eras, then (and I'd completely...More

Start seeing the busts of Shakespeare and Wren on the way in. The upstairs gallery has stunning portraits of the red-haired wife of Dante Gabriel Rossetti. At basement level you can learn about the Roman ruins under the city, which were only uncovered when renovations...More

My boys were very interested in the Roman amphitheater ruins. It is a unique display where you can picture the layout of the amphitheater many years ago. My boys loved pretending they were gladiators in the space that the Roman Gladiators once stood. The museum...More

Well worth a visit is the art gallery in the Guildhall in London. Housed in a very impressive modern building, a Roman amphitheatre was unearthed during the building work and can now be seen in its own gallery underneath the artworks. The venue is free...More
