Had the tour with Johnny. He was dressed to suit the era of Jack the Ripper, and was very passionate about his work and the history of the area. It was a large group, and there were other groups on Jack the Ripper tours at the same time. I thought it was great being in our group as Johnny put... More

The tour was very amazing and Amy was great and very knowledgeable. My wife who hates history and listening to historians loved this tour aswell. I wasn't too impressed with the ripper vision or the pictures that they show but the facts are extremely interesting and Amy made it worth while. Great walking tour. Thanks again guys.

Yesterday's tour with Jonny was great, he was so enthusiastic and knowledgable on the subject. Jonny certainly knew his way around the city and was able to keep the groups attention and anticipation for each and every stage of the tour. I would definitely recommwend this tour for anyone interested in the mysterious Jack the Ripper story. It was reasonably... More

It was ok, not spectacular but ok. Forgot the name of our guide. Get ready for a long walk to places where Jack the Ripper allegedly killed his victims. They show photos of the victims on-site, its a walking power point presentation more than anything.

Stories did not engage at all. Conclusion was just not interesting. Props like the photos and video projection used to tell the story was also of poor quality.

Enjoyed our tour with Johnny tonight. Obviously well informed and very passionate about the topic. As other comments have said with it now being summer Ripper Vision was harder to use as he hunted for a dark corner to project onto but it was something different to what other tours offer. It was a largish tour group with us setting... More

I"m only giving this tour a 3/5 stars... Don't get me wrong, Mick is a fantastic and enthusiastic tour guide! They were very organized and very friendly/helpful. It was the idea of the tour itself that was a bit disappointing. We essentially walked around the Aldgate East area, where the building/murder site/location "used to be". Of all the spots we... Our tour guide Sinead was fantastic. She is knowledgeable, funny, entertaining and hard working. We were the first to start and last to end. She made sure to review the sequence of events at each stop so that we stayed with the flow of events and could understand the entire tour. We had quite a big group (nearly 30), but... More

Staying in Whitechapel

Neighbourhood Profile
Whitechapel
Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.
