At 400 years, the oldest pub in Covent Garden has hardly changed over the years and is proud of its heritage. A truely traditional English pub.

This restaurant/ pub is several hundred years old. That alone would be impressive, but the food was quite good as well. We had a couple of meat pies which came with vegetables and mashed potatoes; very tasty. We washed it all down with a local ale, which was very smooth and malty. Perfect with our meal. Our waitress was helpful... More

My sister and I had a chance to eat at the Lamb & Flag while visiting London. The dining room is quite cozy but the food was excellent. We were able to sit by a window and see the bar crowd outside...what an experience!

From J Boy of Derby Of all the pubs I have reviewed on a recent visit to London this has to be the best by a mile. It has a good range of beers it is old spooky and yes it has a ghost, it's full of old world charm, you could imagine Charles Dickens sitting at one of the... More

Arriving after a theatre visit at 10.30pm, we were greeted with a grunt and very surly service from all three (young) staff in the pub. They all clearly wanted to be somewhere else and require a course on manners as well as customer service. After having sought out this place for its historical significance.... we WON'T be going back.

We visited this pub after noticing it in a good tourist guide. It was really up to our expectations. Cozy, two-storeys but narrow place. Together with the traditional fire place, a warm place. Tourists like to visit it yet after work is popular with locals as well. During our week long visit we came back two times. Recommended!

A real traditional pub, with lots of dark wood, an open fire and an excellent choice of Fullers beers. Up a quiet, cobbled street, but just yards from the hubbub of the West End and Covent Garden, this is a real oasis for those seeking a little tranquility, and a real alternative to the chain and themed pubs that abound.... Having done some research into old London pubs, I was happy to find I was able to make reservations at one of London's oldest pubs. Upon arrival the crowd was out the door, spilling into the "closed" street outside. Perhaps it was because it was a Friday evening, but the place was packed, with a fantastic atmosphere. The restaurant is... More

Enjoyed a few local beers and ciders here at the end of a busy day of sightseeing in this old pub located between Convent Garden and Leicester Square. Staff were friendly. Thanks for the vote if you found this review helpful.

Located near many theaters in London, my friend and I had lunch there prior to attending the theater. This pub has a charming exterior, just what I'd imagine if I was creating a movie set for pubs 400 years ago. Based on the outside we decided to eat at the "Lamb & Flag." On the ground floor there was a... More

Hello Captain J Thank you for your feedback. I am very sorry to hear about your experience in our pub. This is certainly not what we want our customers to experience when visiting. We take great pride in our fresh, daily delivered food and serve it the best way possible. We also make a lot of our meals, including soups,... More

In such crowded surroundings, this old pub is a genuine oasis, with delicate, old details, real Dickensian atmosphere and delicious food. Downstairs full of life and noisy happy people, upstairs full of peace and history. It seems as if you are at once centuries ago tasting the old flavours of life.
