The London Dungeon, one of the UK’s most iconic attractions, has reinvented itself now as a bigger, bolder and better attraction in the vast underground vaults of County Hall on the South Bank, next to the EDF Energy London Eye. The all new multi-million pound attraction will bring 1000 years of authentic London history to life with a unique mix of talented live actors performing in scarily funny shows, stunning special effects, edge of your seat surprises and two exciting thrill rides. Guests will embark on a journey through a dramatic London landscape going back ten centuries. They will be guided through ghastly plague-ridden streets, witness Guy Fawkes’ dramatic plot to blow up Parliament, travel back to Jack the Ripper’s bleak Whitechapel and walk beneath London’s foreboding medieval gates. There are new shows and rides which are more dramatic and surprising than ever, new funnier scripts, more theatrical costumes and styling and more talented actors to play even more colourful villains and blaggards.

We went to this attraction on Monday 5th of December in 10:15 am. Althought we did not understand some words (cause we are from greece), we had great time, because it was very scary. But i am very disappointed because the program was saying tha we will have 2 rides , and we have only one in fact!! I can... More

Takes a while but if you have down time, I highly recommend it! Geared towards both, children and adults! Lots of jokes for the adults ;-) Free beer and juice as a treat at the end, nice treat!

I should have done more research before visiting. Complete with lame effects and cheap scares/laughs, this walk-through attraction was a disappointment. Teenagers and kids will get a kick out of it, but if you want something less reminiscent of a bad Disney World knockoff, take a walking ghost tour in the streets of London instead. Some of the actors were... More

This was a really fun thing for my boyfriend and I to do while we were in London. The actors were theatrical and funny but the tour was also informative. Very similar to the Edinburgh Dungeon, but I imagine they're all pretty similar! Still great fun!

Was expecting some sort of a history type tour instead got a load of poor actors trying to look interested in what they were doing.spent more time in the dark than was needed to try to create an atmosphere which simply did not work. I,m sure there must have been daylight in London even in 1666. As for being scared... More

I am a Merlin Pass Holder as is my son so I only had to use the £10 ticket for my wife, so this was always going to be good value The tour went through the history of London and we had the character actors who bring it to life and involve you when telling their particular story At the... More

Fantastic, Brilliant, Awesome - I could go on. The staff are top notch, Mrs. Lovett she had me in stitches, couldn't move. Ace Woman, big thumbs up. Absolutely loved every minute but will make this short as honestly I don't want to ruin it - and it's best if you just go round blind to what is coming round the... More

What an absolutely amazing London attraction. You can get tickets on two for one offers so it's really reasonably priced. You go through different eras of London and the staff who portray some of the characters were superb. This attraction is a definite must see attraction.

We thought the actual experience was pretty good, small numbers of people in the group made it easily manageable, each incident, person highlighted was achieved by young gifted actors who portrayed relevant information skilfully and with an amusing dialect. The first and only ride we went on was incredibly dark and it was difficult to understand what it was meant... More

Great staff, great experience, very professional and able to handle anything (there were a few bellends unfortunately) but took everything in there stride

Staying in Southbank

Neighbourhood Profile
Southbank
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.
