Enter this wonderful museum for free and go directly to the Turner collection. You'll enter the world of "impressionnisme-avant-la-lettre". Don't forget to drink something in the Tate brasserie and take the terrace if you can...

The Tate is a wonderful museum of modern art. It is located on the south bank of the Thames near London Bridge. The current exhibit regarding American black artists during the civil rights movement (Soul of a Nation) is magnificent.

I still probably prefer the Tate Modern, but of course this classic collection in a truly beautiful building is no slouch as well. I found the collection very easy to negotiate.

Emphasis here is on the parade of British painters who celebrated the life & landscape of this island kingdom thru the centuries. Whether formal or playful, this is easy art to love.

We were there in September and took in the Black Art in America exhibit. If all exhibits are as good as this one was, spend time in at least one of them. Could use more than one day here--maybe a week!

Time spent in Pimlico is a slower-paced affair than
most other Central London neighbourhoods. This largely
residential area orderly arranged beside the Thames,
is a treasure trove of quaint pubs, subtle
architectural charms and local boutiques. Here, art
lovers thrill at the chance to visit the world class
Tate Britain gallery for its collection of British art
from the 1500s to the present. For peace and quiet and

it is very much depends on you, how deep you are in an art, but quick tour only exhibition took 1 hour 30 minuets with normal tempo.
