We noticed the Royal Opera House tucked away in the corner of Covent Garden on our way to the market. We discovered that they do a backstage tour for the very reasonable price of £9.00 a ticket. As very non-opera people, I was a bit...More

I travelled from Australia to London specifically to see a prima ballerina dance at the ROH. I purchased A reserve tickets. When I arrived I found that, from the seats, I could not see the dancers' feet. I asked three different ROH staff members (...More

Went to a production of La Bayadere. Whole experience was fabulous - pre ordered drinks so available in interval - beautiful bar setting to drink in - copious amounts of toilets - beautiful theatre - comfy seats

Natalia Makarova's production of this 19th-century classic ballet. It was breathtaking experience. Highly recommend to see the play, so passionate and emotional. Love it, love it... I would also like to see this play in Moscow, performing "Russian Ballet" in " Bolshoy treater"....

Sitting a little higher does save a very small amount and shows off the decor well. The orchestra superb as always, fills the house. After something like 50 million pounds has just been spent on the front lobby so to speak, access and ground floor...More

We booked with time the backstage visit to the theater. The guide was very knowledgeable about the activity and history of the theater. Highlights 1) How was the building transformed , especially to be able to give more functions and shorten the intervals? 2) Access...More

If the V&A Museum could once be described as a posh cafe with a museum attached, so the new “Opened Up” ROH is just a canteen with a posh opera house attached. I’ve known and loved this place for over 50 years since I would...More

The space is a delight. The orchestra were stunning. The dancers of the RB brought a grace, discipline and physical ability that is awesome. The principals simply didn’t have the chemistry that makes an evening magical.

Been conducted by Antonio Pappano. Amazing cast, orchestra and the chorus! Soprano solo by Lise Davidsen. She was absolutely stunning. Dramatic and stunning legatos in her grand voice. Newly refurbished opera house is now cosier than before to grab some drinks also.

I sat stalls circle right A90 for Carmen and although not central, it was an excellent, clear view. Got fantastic advice from the box office, so I recommend booking through them for expert help. Enjoy!
