You can wander around this area and think that you are in the British monopoly board game as you will see all those famous names which are on the most expensive places that you can buy - it is the same in reality with seeing the most expensive cars parked outside the hotels and restaurants herev

I was fortunate enough to stay near the edge of Mayfair on my recent visit to London in Jan. It remains one of my favourite parts of the city, although unfortunately it is too ridiculously expensive to ever realistically aspire to live here longer term. Great selection of places to eat scattered throughout the district and plenty of interesting quiet... More

I can never tire of wandering around the nicest part of London. I'd love to see behind the doors of the beautiful buildings to see the opulence. Great cars buzzing around the streets, the most beautiful buildings and upmarket eating and dining outlets. Spotted Rod Stewart and Penny walking into Scotts for lunch.

It is the most expensive square on a monopoly board and one of the most expensive areas in London. It is great to see the opulence, the architecture and the stores and food that lines the area. It is easy to see and there is plenty to do for all ages. It is close to many major attractions and plenty... More

Mayfair is an amazing area of london you need to walk down mount street to Berkeley square and all the side streets , you will also find some old authentic little pubs like the punch bowl in the area and some stunning old houses and small parks . If you are looking to eat you will also find the best... More

Beautiful district in London's city centre. Beautiful architecture. Most of London's city centre architecture is fabulous but Mayfair can easily demean all that. Christmas decorations are unbelievable! The best really! It's the kind of bling this area deserves! Lovely to see the window displays and Christmas decorations of some of the biggest names in the fashion industry!

This area, on the east of Hyde Park, stretches east of Park Lane and contains many of the Top Hotels and eateries in London! You may recall its the most expensive on a Monopoly board! Hotels such as The Grosvenor House, with its huge Ball Room, are based here and staying in these places is special

Mayfair is a very affluent area inhabited by London's "Poorest" people. There is some nice architecture to be seen with the odd coffee shop and restaurant. Otherwise, I wouldn't rush there.

On a recent nostalgia visit to London, we took a long walk through our old neighbourhood of Mayfair. Some things do not change - the beautiful old homes, stunning architecture, lovely small parks and quiet streets. Other things had changed a lot - our favourite pub, the Red Lion, had been converted into a beautiful residence - and the charming... More

Staying in Mayfair

Neighbourhood Profile
Mayfair
Set beside some of London's best parks and home to world-class galleries, luxurious hotels, and famed thoroughfares, the ultra upscale Mayfair is one of London's most exclusive haunts. Here the shopping is haute, the dining is exquisite, and the nightlife is vibrant. A casual stroll through the area’s chic streets will reveal that Michelin stars and chauffeured cars are practically the norm here. Even if you're on a tight budget, this exceptionally well connected swath of Central London is worth exploring, if only for the chance to take a peak at the goings on of upper crust English society.
