- TWal1Canberra, Australia2,944 contributionsNo Particular PlanWe enjoyed wandering through Regent’s Park. Like other London parks, it is a large green space and is relatively flat and easy walking. We also ventured onto Primrose Hill and Queen Mary’s Gardens. This was a very pleasant way to spend half a day.Visited July 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 21 September 2023
- Martin LLytham St Anne's, United Kingdom214 contributionsRelaxing time in a very hectic City2 autumn mornings spent walking through these gardens in one of the Royal Parks. They are a delight. Beautifully and interestingly laid out, maintained to an exceptional standard and provide some peaceful time in an exceptionally loud, busy city. It’s remarkable how these parks can be maintained with Govt funding yet such funding is not available elsewhere in the UK. They are the Royal Parks and as such should be available to ALL UK citizens. It is a serious deficiency that these parks are only available in and around London.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 26 October 2023
- gfsc5Perth, Australia1,787 contributionsLarge oasisThis large park is always worth a visit because it changes every season. There is lots to see and it may be that a visitor may need to focus in on one or two areas rather than try to see it all. I entered from the Camden side and came out at the Marylebone side. I saw lots but it took a lot of steps. Lots of paths to follow, water features, flower gardens, trees and lots more. If you get the season right, Queen Mary's Rose Garden is a delight. The roses were just coming out when I visited in mid /late May. Very nice.Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 24 May 2024
- ckm818Hong Kong, China296 contributionsGreeneryOriginally part of the Forest of Middlesex and hunting ground for King Henry VIII, the Regent’s Park has been named after the Prince Regent (who later became King George IV). For a runner like me, this has been turned into a running trail in the morning. You won't get lost, even if the park is huge. Take break to watch squirrels if you are tired. Or else, find a cup of coffee from the cafeteria.Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten 14 July 2024
- Mal RLondon, United Kingdom216 contributionsGorgeous Royal Park in central LondonOne of the joys of attending Regents University is walking through Regents Parks to get to class in different seasons. I also enjoy having lunch in one of the park cafes and discovering different floral arrangements, enjoying the bare trees or green foliage and watching ducks on the ornamental lake. During this visit in March it was mostly tree skeletons on view just before spring arrives. Regent’s Park is surrounded by stunning Regency architecture. There is also a zoo, aviary, children’s playground and allotments. In the spring and summer, look out open air plays or enjoy picnics on Primrose Hill.Visited March 2024Travelled soloWritten 17 July 2024
- andyh67186334Coalville, United Kingdom10,862 contributionsAn Oasis of Calm in LondonI used Regents Park the previous day to walk to and from the Zoo, but the weather was horrendous. I walked back to the park the next morning after breakfast on a Sunday morning quite early, and apart from dog walkers and joggers it was very quiet. As you would expect from a Royal Park, the area is very well laid out with ornamental fountains, follies and lots of plants and trees. It was so peaceful, I felt like I was in the countryside as opposed to the centre of London. Definitely worth a visit, but I only stayed there a short while as I had a flight to catch.Visited August 2024Travelled soloWritten 6 September 2024

Regent's Park is just on the edge of Central London with Marylebone Road in the south, Camden in the east and St John's Wood in the west.
There are lots of paths to walk along and plenty of green spaces if you want to relax or exercise.
There are also lots of nicely tended gardens and a boating lake. Regent's Park is now home to ZSL London Zoo in the north of the park. You have to pay to go in but there are deals out there, especially if you travel into London by train.
It's a real oasis of calm in a busy city.

It’s not just location that makes this the best park in London, it’s the layout. The park is expansive and spacious yet easy to walk. At the centre is the Inner Circle. Here you find the exquisite rose gardens, some truly sumptuous private residences and the unique and wonderful Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre. This has a busy and award-winning summer performance schedule including everything from Shakespeare to work-class musical theatre. London Zoo is in a very large corner of the park. Also, nestled in a nicely unobtrusive corner you can find Regent’s University which is part of the University of London. Winter or summer this is the best park in London. Enjoy!

We walked through this wonderful park after visiting London Zoo (see separate review) initially and headed down the Broad Walk towards Chester Road. As a Royal Park it is beautifully maintained. We admired the ornamental water fountain and then stopped for a welcome cool drink at the Broad Walk Cafe along the way.
There are lots of grassy areas full of picnickers’ on a sunny day, there are benches all along the Broad Walk to sit and people watch. It was lovely to see families with cycles, scooters and just walking, enjoying time together.
We then crossed over to Queen Mary’s Rose Gardens. It must be spectacular in June when the roses are in full bloom. They are past their best now but you can still smell them. There is a small lake, waterfall and lots of different statues. Further along are the Avenue gardens, Jubilee gates and Regents Park Open Air Theatre. We did not see everything but were impressed by what we did see.
We also found some toilets although they are well hidden!
We visited the theatre in the evening which was amazing.

Beautifully manicured park and gardens. Vast open spaces and beautiful detailed promenades. The Queen's garden (filled with roses), oriental garden, children's playground, and London Zoo are located within the boundries of the park. My grandchildren enjoyed a day at the zoo. Had breakfast one morning at the Cafe which was very good and reasonably priced. Great location to relax and connect with nature after the dealing with the holiday shopping crowds. I imagine the park is a feast for the senses in the Springtime when the park is in its full glory.

It's best to go to Regent's Park on a warm sunny day. There is so many places to hang around. They have beautiful plants, flowers, water fountains and benches everywhere to sit down and take instagramable pictures. There is a cafe-style restaurant (can't remember the name) but they have pizzas (not halal, I ordered the plain cheese pizza) which was perfect to eat on the grass and enjoy a mini picnic.

I took time to stop here, whilst passing through to sightsee another place
The first thing that hits you, is the size of the place. It's spread out, so that you can take time to notice nature. They have different named roses growing there in a selection of beds; yet to fully mature.
There's also a a cafe and open air theatre, roundabouts, and I was surprised to see blue pedalos on the lake.

Attractive, large, varied and generally well maintained garden/park but some parts starting to look a bit dated with hundreds of tall rose bushes in bare earth & elsewhere annual bedding plants looking like an elderly grandmother's front garden. Unfortunately, the Boat House Cafe doesn't have toilets in it so you are directed to one nearby but they are dirty, smelly and all the doors have broken locks which are hard to use if they function at all - but you are charged 20p for the privilege, payable by card with no cash option!!

Totally underwhelmed given its proximity to some of the most expensive property in the world...
Tacmac paths, overgrown boarders (don't give me the "wilding" excuse either), untrimmed hedges, weeds, very few flowers, huge patches of dead or none existent grass on the" lawns", all within a few minutes walk of the entrance from Baker Street.
The cafe was a joke too, I've been in more inviting motorway service cafes, disinterested staff watching videos on their phone when you enter, lovely.
All this is central LONDON?! Quite honestly Alexandra Park in Oldham wipes the floor with it in every way, including the cafe!

Such a huge park, which can be accessed when visiting the zoo on one side, Madame Tussauds on the other and much more. Ponds, rose garden, water features, walled garden, bridges and so many places to see. Whether you want a quiet picnic or just to walk through, there is always something to see and do and a must do when in the area. There are seats available, along with some cafes and toilet blocks.

A lovely large royal park with lots of discreet parts. We especially enjoyed the Japanese garden with it's lakes, bridges, waterfalls and winding pathways and varied plants. The broad walk is rather crowded, but worth visiting, as is the large lake at the south side.

Is there toilet open due to Covid 19? Incase we need.

I’m afraid I don’t know if there are toilets open due to Covid-19. There are public toilets in the nearby Baker St underground station

Are there roses now in winter too?
Thanks
Written 12 December 2019
Imperdivel.

Can you pay by card for the boat hire? Also are there shaded areas of the park to sit?
Is it easy to navigate from Camden Gloucester gate entrance to boating lake?

We were very fortunate -- it rained on the first day we arrived in London, and was raining (lightly) when we left, but in between the weather was very nice, especially for November. I was expecting rain because that's how it is most of the time, according to what I've been told.
