While not as busy as the Soho I know (NYC), it is still very busy. Additionally like my Soho it is full of small shops and eateries. We found most of our meals being eaten in this area and there are many choices. While the shops are not quite as fashionable as NYC, they are window-shop worthy. Unlike the Soho... More

I often visit London and Soho is one of my favourite areas. It has an eclectic mix of bars, cafes, restaurants, and shops with something for everyone. It still has its 'seedy' parts but this adds to its atmosphere. You can visit high end restaurants, independent coffee shops, boutiques, record stores, book shops, street food stalls, clubs, funky bars, and... More

A great place for entertainment, food and nightlife. It's a bustling area and a must visit for tourists. Restaurants here range from the cheap and laid back to dim-sums, Japanese and International fare.

Soho used to be a swinging place; now it's probably more stable. My London friends tells me this is the only place to go if you want authentic Chinese, and others agreed. With so many of the Chinese restaurants here, you may just walk in because of the looks of it. I don't think you can go wrong!

One week after easter and soho was crowded with people. Great restaurants and bars. Pity parking your car there is day light robbery.

We stayed at the St. Giles hotel which is on the border of Soho. It was an easy bus ride down Oxford street to get where we wanted to go. Carnaby Street was entertaining, Liberty department store was beautiful. We ate at Dishoom's for curry, and it lived up to its hype. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven... More

Very famous and tourist place next to Hyde Park, big ben, picadilly circus etc. The best place to eat Chinese food. If you go you have to try the duck.

This area is so much better than it used to be as everyone used to class this as seedy and a place to avoid if you could Nowadays there are many bars and restaurants here that you should go and try as they are very good and the area itself is interesting just to walk down and have a wander... Really nice place to go, every culture will appear on the same place. Have a great Chinese meal in China Town, check out a gallery and finish up with a latte in any art coffee shop. Amazing.

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
