I had no prior interest in suits of armour but the collection here was amazing. The furniture and paintings were world class treasures. Well worth a visit. And free too although it was so good that we left a larger donation than we would normally have done

We made the visit following the programme on Sky Arts. The gallery is excellent with a wide and varied collection of art and military artefacts. The restaurant is particularly good. We had an excellent lunch, well served and very well presented.

Today was the third time I have had lunch here I come back because the venue is lovely, the ambience great and the food excellent.. BUT.. yet again the service is dreadful. Long waits for menus and service -staff running round like headless chickens ( about 3 times as many staff compared with an Italian restaurant of similar size) or... More

Went specifically to see the paintings. Don't do furniture or porcelain. Amazing to stand in front of famous paintings such as the Laughing Cavalier and The Swing. Particularly pleased by the opportunity to see the winners of the recent art competition on TV.

Really wonderful, a hidden gem - not very busy but lots to see and has a delightful cafe in an inner courtyard which is charming.

Spent a lovely afternoon here taking the 1 hour free quided tour, which was well worth it as it gave a great insight to the collection, the guide Cynthia was knowledgeable, friendly and very approachable. We will go again as so much to see, famous paintings, porcelain, sculptures and much more. The Portrait Artist of the year was displaying the... More

Forget the big galleries, visit this one, a private collection which is outstanding. I also go back when I'm in London.

Well worth visiting. There is so much to see plus a lovely cafe/restaurant. The 2017 Sky Arts Portrait artist of the year display was brilliant!

Love the cafe in the Atrium area. Its light and elegant and the whole atmosphere feels like being in an Oasis in London!

Staying in Marylebone

Neighbourhood Profile
Marylebone
Marylebone offers what so many London neighbourhoods cannot: a village feel coupled with urban convenience. Much of its success rests in its location. Wedged between the northeastern corner of Hyde Park and the southern end of Regent's Park and with a number of Tube stations within easy reach, Marylebone is as pedestrian friendly as Central London gets. The bustling shopping mecca of Oxford Street separates it from Soho and Mayfair, exclusive Regent Street marks its border with Fitzrovia, and cosmopolitan Edgware Road serves as its western edge. Within this enviably situated quarter are an array of outstanding restaurants (from Michelin darlings to down and dirty cheeseburgers), an impressive assortment of independently owned shops, and some of the city's quietest and most pleasant nooks, crannies and cobbled lanes.
