What Makes It Special
Old Spitalfields Market represents one of the country's last bastions of consumer diversity and individuality. Home to an old-fashioned community of over 50 independent and large traders and a plethora of chic bohemian businesses, it has secured its place at the forefront of interiors, design, food and the arts - a market that truly embraces the spirit of modern London, an entrepreneurial and cultural melting pot that is ever-changing and developing without ever forgetting its historic past. As Samuel Johnson so eloquently said of London: 'When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford." The same is very much true of Old Spitalfields Market.

Only had a walk through while out in the town. It’s certainly different to the last time I was here. Lots of modern bars and shops. Really quite impressive! Will make a longer visit next time in the area.

I passed through here on my way to The London Coffee Festival. Cute market with a few shabby chic and antique stalls. Mostly food stalls which all looked amazing. If you're in the area it is worth a stop

If you are planning to visit on a Thursday for the antiques market, don't bother. Half the stall space has been replaced with yet another food court with a few antique stalls scattered around the periphery. The stallholders at Alfie's Antiques in Marylebone (worth a...More
