Old Spitalfields Market represents one of the country's last bastions of consumer diversity and individuality. Home to an old-fashioned community of over 30 independent and large traders and a plethora of chic bohemian businesses, it has secured its place at the forefront of interiors, design, food and the arts - a market that truly embraces the spirit of modern London, an entrepreneurial and cultural melting pot that is ever-changing and developing without ever forgetting its historic past. As Samuel Johnson so eloquently said of London: 'When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford." The same is very much true of Old Spitalfields Market.

Came here for a pre-dinner snack and bought two steamed buns at the Yum Bum food stall. Both the chicken and the pork belly bun were very tasty!

Remember this Sunday market when it first opened, probably around 30 years ago. In those days you had a great variety of stalls, indoor football pitches, and affordable choices of various foods. Visited last Sunday, now many similar stalls selling overpriced craft goods and clothes...More

I think this is the most unfriendly of all the London Markets! Stall holders and security are obsessed with no photos! No customer care at all! Enjoy Portobello Road or Borough Market much friendlier !! I think the Security team need customer relation training.

The market was a lovely experience, lots of stalls selling good quality goods, stalls selling food from all over the world, the smells were amazing, they were all busy. There is a public toilet down stairs. I add this because they are few and far...More

A beautiful market to walk around in and check out all the stalls. Price range varies a lot which is good for all sorts of shoppers. Stalls sell everything from jewelry and leather goods to vintage ware. There’s quite a few food stalls as well,...More

Another city market just a short distance from Tower Bridge. While food vendors seem to occupy the highest number of stalls and shops, the enclosed historical market is crammed full with an eclectic variety of items for sale, from clothing to jewelry and home furnishings...More

Spitalfields Thursday ‘junk/antiques/vintage’ market has been ruined. Now, instead of higgledy-piggeldy stalls, brimming with bargains and vintage ephemera, there are many more permanent food stalls and fewer sterile, shuttered, stalls selling antiques. Well done Spitalfields, following the same sanitised path as Camden and squeezing the...More

Spitalfields Market has a combination of handmade goods and awesome food stalls. Its perfect place for lunch with loads of options. I chose to have currey while my husband wanted noodles and dumplings. Both food options were tasty and at a good price. I recommend...More

For a glimpse of Georgian and Victorian London at its
most pristine, or a peek into what's apt to be the
next big global trend, the hipster zone of
Spitalfields can provide hours of amazement. Around
the clock, this is a haven for early morning bargain
hunters sizing up its street markets, foodie foragers
throughout the day, or late night revelers hitting
some of London's most popular bars and clubs.
