It rained heavy, for three hours, non-stop. Your horror scenario? It shouldn't be! No one else showed up, so I got a private tour through the East End. A super friendly, easy-going and knowledgable guide, empty streets, and no other tourists made for a brilliant experience despite or perhaps because of the rain! If you want a tour that is... More

Did the East End tour with Matt. There were three of us. Matt was actually great, nice guy and knows lots about the area. A few curious stories along he way too. Easy riding through all the safe back ways, mostly avoiding the main busy roads. A great tour. I highly recommend going.

My husband and I visit London every year for a child free weekend. We stumbled across this tour and booked in. We turned up and no one else was there, at 10.15 as arranged, Matthew was there with bikes. There was only my husband Mick and I on the tour but it still went ahead. It was like a personalised... Mathew took me on the East End tour today, and I just loved it. He is a delightful guide with lots of knowledge and a lovely demeanor. The biking is very easy (3.5 hours go by in a flash) and easy on the legs. My tour covered the Islington canals with the house boats on them, Broadway Street Market, Hackney... More

I always prefer the smaller tour companies which tend to give more personal attention to their customers. Cycle Tours of London was one such company, and Mathew who runs the tours himself knows the heart and soul of his city well. I went on a solo tour with him and had him all to myself (lucky me!). We went through... More

I am using Cycle tours of London often and even if i am usually participating to the same tours are never the same since Matthew is always original when guiding the tours and make the experience always exciting. I personally like the Canal tour which is one of the best and also the East London tour. Just listen to Matthew... More

Just came back from the East End Cycle Tour with Mathew. Even though it rained during part of the ride we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. This probably is the best way for a tourist to learn about east end London and to experience its history, population and culinary flavours. Mathew was an excellent and charming guide always aware of our needs... More

I was hesitant to tour London on a bike because of the length of the tour and the traffic, BUT this tour ended up being in my top 3 things I did in London!!! Mathew is an excellent guide and I actually could have biked longer! (2 moms in our fifties and our two girls in their twenties.) in my... More

Staying in Bloomsbury

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
