Neighbourhood: Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.

When in London for a meeting I was close to Notting Hill so I ventured to the Bookshop made famous by Hugh Grant in the movie 'Notting Hill'. As well as being a great bit of movie nostalgia the shop itself has an awesome selection of travel books. It gets busy with tourists all wanting a photo, surprising how famous it still is all these years after the film was released... I suppose that just shows what a classic film Notting Hill is and what a great shop the Bookshop is too.

Cute! It's a fairly small bookstore, and when we went on a Sunday, it was overcrowded due to it being a tourist location. I feel like if you just want to buy books, there are a lot of large bookstore chains in London that you can go to instead. If you love small bookstores, this is a really lovely one with a good selection. You can find beautiful editions of classics here and nicely designed souvenir totes. You just have to deal with the crowds.

the bookstore itself was small and homie just like it is in the movie, very crowded though (obviously because it is famous). the book selection was impeccable from travel to autobiographies. i was impressed by the staff and the seating/photo bench was very nice, one could take turned taking photos in front of the well known bookstore. right in front of the store there was free japanese coffee which was also a very nice surprise, especially while waiting to take your photo. inside of the bookstore it was just as in the movie, also with quotes from julia roberts. all in all it was a very nice area to be in.

No customer service! Rude and insolent staff! Although they were chatting and doing nothing, they seemed disturbed by daring to be asked if they can help to wrap 3 books in one gift!
I used to enjoy their “Blind date “book and gift my family with these ones( and they were wrapped!…so it’s possible)…but I will take my initiative round the corner to a nicer shopping experience!
Absolutely unexpected poor service after all these years enjoying this local bookstore!!!

This is the fake store!! We also had to visit the store but after coming home, we immediately put on the movie and found out that the store looks nothing like the one in the movie. There is a street with an arch to the left, and it is on the main road, Portobello road, while this shop was in a side street. Very disappointed that we believed this is the real one and not a fake. Bummer!

Visited the comic book part of this bookstore, the person behind the counter was not very interested in dealing with a non regular customer, lots of back issues but don't expect much from beyond 20 years old, average at best

The shop itself was very cute and it had a certain homely feel to it. There were quite a few people inside, but that was expected. I would definitely come back again!

Happened past as I was wondering the streets of Notting Hill. I had read it was usually very touristy and crowded, but it was quite the opposite. I was able to browse and pick up a few books. Very nice shop!
